Around The Kava Bowl is an amazing example of what it means to bring the kava community together. Everyone there is so welcoming and the owners made sure to spend time with the guests to ensure everyone is having a great time. As someone who’s been to a lot of kava bars, I was extremely impressed with how good the kava was, the service they gave, and most importantly their hard work to make sure everyone feels welcomed and loved. We enjoyed it so much that we spent 3 of our vacation nights hanging out there. Thanks so much guys!!

It was our first time having kava aside from bottles of Feel Free! My husband and I enjoyed the quaint outdoor shop with its many adorning plants and mix matched furniture. The entire place was exactly the atmosphere we were looking for to relax and try a variety of kava. The owners were friendly and spent some time teaching us about different types of kava so that we could choose the best kind for us. It’s a little hidden though! Park and walk around to the back of the building at the location!

Having been to many kava bars around the world we were so stoked to find this one was right around the corner from the place we were staying at. I couldn't have imagined it would become our little second home for a few days. The thoughtfulness and community that Sage puts into his place is radiating while the kava is flowing. It's strong, traditionally made and so good! Definitely will be back if we're on the island again!

A community space for all ages! Beautiful outdoor arrangement with an indoor very large room. Classes like dancing, drumming, yoga, etc... Weekly entertainment! Drinks of all kinds but their highlight is kawa from all around Polynesia. This alcohol free environment is perfect for people of all ages. Families with children friendly! The amount of money you spend depends on the size of your party or how much you partake in. Average is $10 to $20 including tip. You can bring your own food as they are not yet providing foods for sale. Both adult and children activities available. Great kava associated gifts like powders, concentrates and mixing accessories. There's also crystals, sage and similar items for sale. Come in for the atmosphere and kava but come back for the people! You MUST experience this kawa ohana if you're visiting South Kona. Bonus!!! A wonderful, relaxed atmosphere, perfectly suiting a kava place. My partner and I came here twice on our vacation, and it was great each time. The owner has worked with kava for a very long time, so he knows what he’s doing, and it shows in the varieties he mixes and the information he shares if you ask. It’s the kind of backyard place you can sit back in—literally—for a bit, talking, playing some of the board games on hand, or whatever else you want to do while the kava relaxes you. These guys know the true meaning of aloha! They are always giving to the community and have such a beautiful family! Your kava is strong and affordable. In my belief you guys are doing a service for the community by being there. Thank you so much for the wonderful experiences! Some nights there is music. They are always there from 10:00 to 11:00 consistently, sometimes later and they have fresh and powdered kava! This is by far my favorite place to have kava with my friends!
