Black Rock Pizza - Captain Cook — Restaurant in Hawaii

We are vegetarians, so it's harder for us to find and enjoy nice vegetarian meal during travel. Please do not tell me salad is a meal. I know you can find very nice salad or cold dish/veggie wrap , but seriously, you can't eat that every day.

Here comes the Black Rock Pizza, we didn't expect much from vegetation pizza, just need some hot food. Oh, what a surprise.... We got such a delicious veggie head pizza, all the toppings were juicy and full of fresh vegetable flavors, right amount of melting cheese, very very well made crust, baked at perfect temperature.

My wife and I both agreed this is one of the best veggie pizza we have ever eat, maybe on our top list, and considering it's $20 for 2 persons, (medium size 12 inches is $20, a large 14 inches is $26)

Oh and they have a very beautiful outdoor eating area at the back with great view, very relaxing.

By the way, they were extremely busy and I only see one waitress, she was a bit of stressed out because of the constantly running back and forth, however, she still kept her cool and was very polite to us and asked us if we need extra help. The cashier sometimes jumped in to help when no one was ordering. Also, looked like the kitchen and 2 chefs were at their full capacity, they were making pizza like crazy, non stop. Overall, we were satisfied with this experience. This is a very efficiently operated place, those hard working staffs deserve your good tip.

This restaurant was extraordinarily hyped up to me by my family who had already gone to eat here (saying that it was the best pizza they'd ever had). And they did not even remotely disappoint. So much so that we went back the next day (which is something I usually don't do when visiting an area)! This is some of the best food I've literally ever have, which is shocking coming from a seemingly random pizza shop in KONA. But everything about this place was delicious. Pesto rolls were AMAZING and unique- I could happily eat these as my entree. The first night I got the veggie head pizza, which was DELICIOUS. We also got the cannolis this night- which were perfectly fried + a nice crunchy texture. Next day we all shared- got the chicken parm, spicy pepperoni, hoi boi, and not so hawaiian. All were absolutely incredible. So unique and every aspect regarding crust, texture, cheese, melt - perfectly done! All options are creative and tasty.
