My husband and I have decided to stop coming to this Denny's. The Service by the waitress was good, I have no complaints about Sherri (if I got her name right), she was wonderful! BUT... There was a sitting Host named Curtis who was a complete jerk. This was the second time he has been rude to my husband and myself. The first time we were waiting to be seated and I understood that there was a line of people paying for their meals, and he had to take it first. My husband was getting impatient (we were waiting a good 15 minutes JUST to atleast be acknowledged. so I understood my husbands impatience.), but I was patient because I used to work (before coming to the island) in customer service and understood how it is. But if someone is waiting I would acknowledge them with a "I will be right there! Thank you so much for waiting!". He ignored us completely. and finally my husband said "Is there someone that could take us to a table?" He pointed a finger toward my husband and said, "Sir. Wait.". I was ready to get up and say something really really harsh back at him. But decided against it. Last night we went back and saw him, again we waited (not as long). when he was done, I gave him a smile and my husband said "Hi how are you.". He said not one word. He just took two menus and began walking away. My husband and I just stood there wondering where he was going... again, i'm used to maturity in customer service. I'm used too "2 in your party? Will you please follow me?". But nothing! He looked back at us with a "hello! Are you not going to follow me?", my husband I could tell was really REALLY practicing patience. So was I. My husband said "We need a table for 12 people." This Curtis character laugh a mean sarcastic laugh and said "Haha! thats funny." And began to walk. Finally he looked back and said "Are you serious?" I had enough of being "sweet". I looked back at him and laughed the same way and said "Oh yes. we are." He looked around at a close to EMPTY restaurant (the booths were taken, ALL the tables were EMPTY!) and clicked his tongue as if the restaurant was overflowing with rowdy customers and said "How are we going to do this?" So I answered just the same way "Oh yes. All these empty tables are full of people. how are we going to do this." He acted as if he didn't hear me. Finally after waiting 5 more minutes he sat us down and my husband (rightfully angry) sarcastically said, "Thanks alot. Great service around here." to which Curtis didn't answer. The ONLY reason we actually stayed was because our friends were on their way, and it was late at night, we were tired and hungry and just wanted to order. I told my husband "If Curtis comes and waits on us, I cannot promise I will hold myself back. He is a mean spirited person." Obviously, he probably remembered my husband, but this is not middle school. this is a place of business. Act like one. I am so disapointed by Him, If anyone from this establishment is reading this, you need to correct his attitude. or else someone will do so in front of all your customers....
Read moreNEVER AGAIN! Why is there no ZERO RATING option here?!
I came here one morning because I didn't feel like cooking and cleaning up before running our morning errands. I just wanted to get in, have some pancakes, and get out, and start my day. What a mistake it was to go there... I should have gone to Koa Pancake House!
We got there bright and early, maybe 0700 on a Saturday morning. The parking for this place is ridiculous. I couldn't imagine trying to dine here when the other surrounding businesses are open. We didn't have to wait to be seated. Once we were seated, we waited for 15 mins just for our server to come take our drink order. I told her that I wanted to order my food as well (since I just spend 15 whole frickin minutes looking at the menu) as she was trying to walk away.
After ordering our food, our drinks came out about 5 mins later but our food... our food took almost AN HOUR to come out. What the heck?! And the manager didn't even come out. At this point, there were about 3 couples waiting to be seated in the waiting area... but not because there was no room in the restaurant but because the greeter was missing. After we got our food which included pancakes and hasbrowns, we waited for our server to come back with pancake syrup and ketchup. We ended up borrowing a different table's ketchup and ate our pancakes without syrup as mind you, we had been there for about an hour and a half by now. We were starving.
I went to find the manager and he apologized. He gave me one of my plates off a whole ten dollars. When I went to pay, the cashier was having issues and it took me ANOTHER 10 mins just to check out because she couldn't figure out how to take the $10 off. She had to call the manager over to help her. I ended up signing a ticket without the signature block authorizing the charge and was not given a receipt because they were having issues. TWO HOURS LATER I walked out of the establishment. There are so many curse words I want to use about this place, but I'll just say:
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.
I felt that after everything we went through, the manager could have at least comped our drinks too. I mean, have you ever tried to sit in a restaurant with an 18 month old for TWO HOURS?! Also, I couldn't even see a reason why we received such poor service. There were several open booths, so they weren't slammed, and there were several other waitresses in our area who ordered and got their food before us.
The only thing that was good about that place was the Pumpkin Pecan Pie Pancakes that we got there. I would definitely order them again next year if they have them, but it will most definitely be a to-go order unless I felt like wasting several hours of my time.
Bottom line: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Go to Koa Pancake House in Waipahu. I wouldn't waste your time at Kountry Style Kitchen...
Read moreOur server was fantastic unfortunately the manager was not. We went in this morning to have a nice family breakfast and it did not go as well as planned. We orders chicken and waffles off of the children's menu for our son and asked for it to come before our food if possible. Our waitress said she would try to get it done if possible. Perfectly understandable if she wasn't able to. She brought out our son's milk, some yogurt, and our drinks. Shortly after we recieved our order for my food and my husband's food....but yet our son's food had mysteriously disappeared from the kitchen according to our waitress. We said no problem we can feed him from our dishes until his arrives. Our son at this point was miserable (he's a picky eater at 16 months old). We had finished our meal and still no chicken and waffles. We asked another waitress for it to be cancelled since we had waited over an hour for it and had not seen our waitress. Our waitress finally appears with the plate and we are ready to head out. The chicken was overcooked and the waffles were burned. She said she would take it off our bill. When she talked to her manager he/she said that they would give us a military discount of 15% instead since my husband is active dury which didn't even cover the cost of the chicken and waffles. Overall there was no point in arguing over the cost of the plate since we had to leave. Our son was so hungry and distraught at this point. He didn't even want the food and why would he when his meal was overcooked. Thank you to our waitress but with today's service and treatment we will never be coming back to this establishment while...
