Kona Wine Market — Restaurant in Hawaii

Very nice people and very good selection but overpriced in general and definitely compared to the local competition. **Edited post owner comment - actually NOT put up to this review by anyone. I work in this industry and vacation here regularly. The locals discount is nice, but I'm commenting as a visitor. The open bubbly was a great touch (especially since that was what I was looking for so was aware of specific pricing comparisons when I walked in as well) and certainly stuff that expensive you don't see stores opening every day. But any individual bottle of anything is almost 20% more than 3 other stores I went to on the island to look into things. Sorry for knowing the business, knowing my price structures, and calling it out when I see something out of place. Report away, I can defend every position I have on every review I give. One of my best friends recently married in Hawaii. With Covid, no one could go. We wanted to send a nice surprise on the wedding day. I was referred to Kona Wine Market from the bride's resort. A+ experience. I spoke to Sterling, described my friend's taste and he made three wine suggestions. He said they could bundle them into a basket and deliver for a small fee. I also added a "gift message" to the bride. I was not expecting the basket to be so beautiful with some decorative flowers and chocolate added in, nor was I expecting a hand written card! The wrapping was beautiful- the bride took a pic though she cut off the top, but look at the photo. You can tell how gorgeous it was presented to her. And? She LOVED every bottle.

I worked with Sterling the current owner. What a great experience it was! Fast and friendly. Went out of his way to make sure I got what I needed. Shipped a case of wine all the way from Hawaii to Wisconsin. The packaging was great too nothing broke. Normally I don't write reviews and this is only my 2nd review ever of a company (on Google) but, I felt the need to write this because my experience was so great!!
