Kona Rainbow Cafe — Restaurant in Hawaii

Kinda weird when you walk in. The place is rather large inside but there are a few tables against the walls and the entire middle of the room is empty. It's like COVID never went away or they just don't care to wait tables anymore. Once you pass through the painted glass doors and make the long walk through the empty room you are met with a friendly face and then must make a selection from what might be the largest number of food items to choose from on the island. I don't know how many different offerings are really available.... I don't think anybody really knows. So as it sits this place is to treated as a to go fast food restaurant minus the drive thru. Overall, I don't know if I should return. The food was piping hot, made to my request, and was tasty, but...there was a LOT of oil, and the inside of this place looks like it's only been around for 3 months. 8 "Desk" fans are screwed into the walls, making it feel a little...ghetto. Refills for fountain drinks are $1 and $1.50 respectively for normal and large sized drinks, which felt...very "nickle and dime". Condiments are free though, which was nice. But...most of the labels/dates have been removed making for a dodgy decision if you want it or not.

I liked ordering from here. Its quick, its affordable and the food is good most the time. However I'm writing this review today because of the sanitary concerns. Its not all the time but way to common that I have stomach pains and diarrhea after eating there food. This was the last straw for me. I literally spent the last 12 hours going back and forth to the John after eating there bacon cheese burger combo. My stomach felt like it was being stabbed all night. I'm traumatized by the toilet paper touching me now that its so raw from wiping. I hate my life right now, I hate this place right now. You all been warned.
