Stopped in here just after getting in from LAX, starved and looking for something quick but tasty and unique to Hawaii. Never did I guess!!
This BYOB sandwich type place is amazing. It has such a casual, cool, chic, laid back bouncy beach vibe. Situated on the 2nd floor in a retail building, the spot opens up one full wall to the ocean and large bay windows adjoining, giving it a wide open, airy, roomy feel. Could probably hold 50 people but didn't feel empty with 11 and a couple of kiddos at 230 on a Saturday. Very nice atmosphere for this time of day.
Let's talk about the food....eating it is way better than talking about it, let me just say. I wimped out and had the Pocket Rocket mega quesadilla, and it was probably one of the best quesadillas I have ever had. I chose it because it looked the most familiar to me; every single item was designed by the owner and is handcrafted to perfection. And each one is different! I'll post a Pic of the menu and you will just have to see for yourself. Do yourself a favor and get two things! I shoulda.
Customer service is prompt and quick! Not to mention super friendly! Nadja is the one with the magic. I can only imagine how great of a bartender she is (their liquor license gets here in a week or two), but she is a dynamo. If she's not behind the bar, she's on the floor serving food and/or talking to the patrons and she is just genuinely nice and fun to talk with!
I have officially made this a must stop....I come to Big Island every three months and I am soooo grateful for the opportunity to both travel to Hawaii so often, and now also get great food and service before I do anything else. I...
Read moreThis place is seriously so good. The vibe in the restaurant is fun and it has a garage door that opens to the patio with views of the ocean. The staff is super friendly , attentive and had no problems explaining the menu. The sandwich we got was the Asian persuasion with the dip sticks as sides. The bread was perfectly toasted, the peanut slaw with the hot sauce was bomb. The flavors in the sandwich was incredible. The dip sticks came with a marinara sauce that tasted homemade and it was so good i dipped the kettle chips in it. They use fresh ingredients and no seed oils. They are still waiting on a liquor license so BYOB but honestly the food is so good we just had a soda and water and took in the views. Definitely worth coming...

We stopped in for the first time and were blown away. Everything is made fresh and in-house, and you can really taste the difference. The bread was amazing—warm, soft, and full of flavor.
We tried the grilled cheese with Gruyère and thin apple slices—such a delicious twist—and the kettle chips on the side were perfectly crisp. The green chili with jasmine rice was out of this world: rich, a little spicy, and perfectly seasoned.
We also had The Big Sean, and it was unbelievable. The combination of the crunchy coleslaw with their homemade barbecue sauce was something else—tangy, smoky, fresh, and just the right balance.
We’re already planning to come back. This place is seriously a hidden gem....
