We just happened upon this gem by accident and were amazed by the quantity, quality, and value. We had the spare ribs, Teriyaki Chicken, and pineapple freeze and they were huge and tasty. They had an additional two scoops of rice and noodles that came standard with the $14 meal. Come hungry. A few things you need to know. All the locals call ahead because it takes a while to make your food and there is no where to sit. If you order at the window, expect to wAit 20 plus minutes. Those who called ahead picked up their orders and walked away. Way better plan!! Also there is no seating. This is 100% take out. If you must wait, be prepared to stand in the limited shade or in the full sun (another reason to call ahead!) Also, they will keep calling your name to pick up your order when it is ready even if you call ahead. It seems to really bug them if you call ahead and are not there when the food is ready. So call ahead 15 minutes or so ahead of when you plan to arrive, and not more. There are no heat lamps I could see and your food will get cold if you wait too long. Despite the drawbacks, this is the best place to eat on the island. You won’t be left hungry or broke. And the food is as good or better than places that charge 2-3 times as much. Well...

Dingy and dirty. Horrible outdoor seating. Food was inedible and had to be trashed. Ordered a double cheeseburger without pickles or tomato. Charged me for extra pickles. Couldn't understand me when I told them "no" pickles.

Hamburger was obviously just cooked from frozen on a grill. Tasted like the kind of hamburger you would get at 7-Eleven in the old days when they were made out of soybean. The bun and toppings and cheese just ended up being a big pile of goo that could not even be held in hand, let alone with a knife and fork.

The french fries were undercooked and limp and mostly greasy. I like that they keep the skin on their French fries but other than that they were horrible.

I also did not like that they had one price on the menu board inside the restaurant, a barcode linked to another menu that had a completely different price, and the price charged at the cash register was different from the other two. I felt that it was really scammish.

The place is dirty on the outside, and I have very little hope that the inside is any better. Based on the food and service it wouldn't surprise me to find a horror show behind the counter and in their freezer.

I would give this place zero Stars if the option...

Just tonight as I was doordashing with my girlfriend, we went here to go pick up my last customer's order and deliver it. At first, my girlfriend went down to pick up the food, and then the most stupidest worker decides to be rude to her and told her to wait, key word "told" not asked. After that, she talks to her and asks for the customer's name. And when my girlfriend said the customer's name, the worker asked if she was me, the actual doordash driver. Obviously not right, but mind you that doordash delivery drivers would have their phone with them, which is what my girlfriend had in her hand, even showing the worker the customer's name and order. My girlfriend came back to my truck and told me that I had to go pick up the order. And yes I did go down and went to go pick it up. Once I got there, same stupid worker asks what I want, told them it's a doordash delivery for the customer. Right off the bat, she asks if I was the doordash driver, with MY phone in MY hand, even showing her the phone. Then this faka decides to ask for my ID. Come on brah do better and hope that lady gets fired cuz what kine customer...

7/15/2021 Called for take out, 1 mix plate with fried chicken & roast pork, gravy on the side, hand cut fries, and 1 mix plate with chicken katsu and mahi mahi. Oh so good! My chicken katsu was crispy and the sauce on the side was really tangy and yum. The mahi was thinner than I expected but had delicious fry mix coating it and with a different tartar sauce that was tangy, had pickle relish and shredded carrots. The fried noodles are consistently delicious and I like that under the mac salad is shredded cabbage salad with Thousand Island dressing. These plates are huge and make at least three meals for me! Easy phone ordering and pickup. The only thing is she answered the phone with a hello so I had to ask if I had reached Leeward Drive-Inn. I delivered both an Ultimate Mix Plate & a Fried Noodle plate with added Chicken Katsu to a friend who loves fried noodles and makes his own tasty version. He said Leeward Drive-Inn's noodles are the best he's ever had. As he's 73 & has eaten lots of fried noodles in his lifetime, I consider him an expert & also wholeheartedly agree! Leeward Drive-In is consistently delicious!

As far as local plate lunches go...you cant beat 60 years of serving the Waipahu community and by now the entire island. The must have...fried saimin noodles! It goes with everything. It's a lot of food and two people can share or one with a big appetite. Back in the 70's, the turnovers was one of the best sellers. Today, not so much. Today was mix 2 and we tried the beef stew and roast pork. The flavors are still there and its ono. The mac salad has potatoes, so if your favorite is plain mac salad, they dont offer that option. It's still good though! The fried saimin has gotten betta! It's never dripping with oil. It's just right with the char suit, fishcake, and green onion topping. It's a wait to get your food but when you walk up and see the menu, you will know why. Be patient, cuz they goin' give you some healthy portion of good old fashion plate lunch specials. Be kind to the cashier, she tryin' her best! Tell her thanks!

I've heard so much about this place, but the timing has never worked out where I'd be in the area during a meal time. That day finally came and I was not disappointed. I have heard a lot about their famous fried noodles. Ever since Jurison's and The Heights closed their doors, I've been missing that nostalgic fried noodles taste and I think I've found a worthy replacement. Kind of an odd choice, but I felt like Meat Jun on this occasion so I got the Fried Noodles combo with Meat Jun. I wasn't expecting much and almost immediately wished I got the special of the day: Hamburger Curry (which I only noticed on a handwritten sign in the window), but I was pleasantly surprised. From the exterior, it doesn't appear to be the cleanest, nor safest place to get a plate lunch, but I think that's part of the lure and what makes it so appealing. Going to definitely be back to try more options from their quite extensive menu board.
