After running some errands in the shopping center, we stopped here since we were parked in front of it and I needed to get something in me immediately before I passed out. As soon as I walked in, I immediately regretted it.
We were greeted by a woman, then another, then a third. Then they all proceeded to talk to the 3 of us at the same time asking what we wanted to eat. We were trying to look through the glass to see what they offered but the glass was beat up and hard to see what the food was. They kept asking if we were all together and what we were going to eat. I started to get irritated because I felt if I could just be given a moment to look at the food instead of answering their questions, I could figure it out.
I decided that I wanted shrimp canton and gau gee. One of the ladies asked me if I wanted a dozen. Damn... I didn't think I looked like I could out down a dozen by myself...but she asked. I told her no. Then she said I could get half a dozen. I asked her if I could just order single prices as I didnt want 6. I just needed something small to munch on to get my blood sugar back up. I told her I just wanted 4 pieces. Then 2 of the ladies looked at me and asked "Just 4?!" YES... That's all I want. I also ordered 2 gau gee. My aunt ordered a mini sweet sour pork. My grandma only wanted a pastry thing but somehow those 3 ladies talked her into getting a regular fried mahi mahi plate. My grandma has the stomach of a toddler so how they talked her into a regular sized plate... I have no idea.
By this point, I was so irritated that 3 people were talking to us all at the same time, rushing us even though we were the only people there, and push selling us, I really wanted to just get the EFF out of there. But I really hard my heart set on shrimp canton so I pushed forward.
Apparently, it took all 3 of them to ring us up and they gave me a total of $26. Wait a second... A mini plate, a regular plate, 4 shrimp, 2 gau gee, and a pastry thing.... $26?! I looked at one of the ladies and I asked her break it down for me. She said the mahi was $8 and the mini was $6. So.... $10 for the 6 pieces of fried food?! I think not. I asked her to re-ring it. This time it came out to $20. That sounded better.
We sat down to eat and realized that they didn't give me any sauce. I asked for sauce and bit into my shrimp canton... It was COLD!!!? Wth? So was my gau gee. I gave up. That was it. That place was officially a waste of my time, energy, and money.
I think if my shrimp was warm it would have been good. My aunt said the pork was OK and the mahi was okay too.
All in all.... If I could give this place a negative numbered rating, I would. I don't like to be bombarded with sales people trying to sell me food I don't want to eat. I don't like being overcharged for my food. And I cannot stand COLD food. ...
Read moreI don't recommend this place because of the dishonesty of the owner and workers. I came to this store to buy 3 whole roast duck for my party. One of the server asked me to choose 3 out of 5 roast duck that was hanged. So after choosing my preferred 3 I asked the server to chop the roast ducks. I believe when she's about to chop the last one roast duck the owner came close to her and started giving instructions to not chop it and replace with the old two half roast duck that she grab from the counter that I don't know how long it has been sitting there. Then the second server came close to them and them three started mumbling to each other and that's when I notice something is "fishy". After they hand me over my order the first server about to start cleaning and putting back the hooks in their racks the second server mumbled to the first server to hang the hooks later on. When I left the store, I walked towards savers store and I looked at their chopping area from the outside windows and I saw one whole duck at their chopping board. So I went back to the store and confront them about not giving me the right food that I bought and they are giving me a lot of excuses that the two half ducks they chopped is about the same and more meat and that the whole roast duck that I saw on the chopper ng board has been there because another customer was trying to order earlier. After the owner left while I was confronting with them, the two Filipina servers apologized and acknowledged their dishonesty behavior because their boss instructed them to do so. The owner did not even apologize. Also, this restaurant does not even follow the food safety protocols ( 6 inches away from the floor) because while I was waiting for my orders, I spotted one uncovered full container with deep fried food I believe it's chicken that was just sitting on the floor. For the owner and workers if you love your business and work you should not do the right and not cheat your customer just to make money and that what you did of changing fresh food to old food can even expose your customer and their visitor's to a possible food...
Read moreI am from New York City and some employee told me about this place and so we went and tried ordering they did not know what we were ordering and took our order and invented the dishes and then tried to charge us $ 90.00 us dollars and we could not understand such outrages charges and we paid anyway and walked home and sat down to eat the almost $100.00 meal and upon tasting it all we decided to throw it all away because it tasted so very bad and we were very hungry!... So we felt that they had taken advantage of us because we mentioned at the very beginning that we were from New York City and they let us have it!... And they were so disrespectfully so loud as if they were in the mountains making sure that they could be heard by their neighbors far off in the distance. the place was dirty so I highly recommend that if you don't want to waste the Hawaiian hard-earned money you do some Google research when searching for the best Chinese restaurants. Your prices are extremely very, very high In Hawaii so if you want to dine out check for the Best reviews for 2024 before going out to eat!... Sweet felt like we were held up by a thief, this place so don't go there unless you want to throw away good-earned cash, please do not go to this restaurant cause if you do then you'll then say to yourselves we should have heeded the advice of the kind...
