Aina Grill — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I was enticed by the pictures and menu looking online for a place to eat. Stopped in and tried the surf and turf. The shrimp had a tasty mayo sauce like hawaiian style ebi mayo, but what really wow'd me was the grilled sirloin. The steak was grilled and seasoned perfectly and so satisfyingly delicious without the sauces. Had to get the sirloin again the next time I went there along with the fried chicken sandwich. Huge piece of chicken in that sandwich, with pickle and pepperslaw that was crunchy and tasty. On my last night in town I tried the BBQ pork sticks and swiss burger. The pork sticks were juicy porkbelly pieces with a sweat bbq glaze hawaiian style all the way that I loved and the swiss burger was very juicy and savory with the mushrooms and swiss together. I have to mention the sides too. The mac salad, mac cheese are good, coleslaw is crisp and sweet, very good. Mini potatoes have a rich cheese sauce and is really good and man those fried noodles local style I could each an entire bowl of alone. The sirloin with the spanish rice side the way it's shown in their pictures is a great combination together too. Everything I had there I'd get again. A great spot with friendly aloha spirit. 5/14/2021 This was my first time trying and I liked this place a lot! 4 stars only because the nice worker (it was her first day, I think) made a mistake on my sides. I asked for 2 mac & cheese but I got 2 mac salad instead.The mac salad was really good though. It was tangy, had small pieces of carrot, and had paprika sprinkled on the top with not too much mayo. I'm picky about my mac salad and the macaroni was cooked perfectly and not mushy. I got a cheeseburger with mayo, mustard, and cheese sauce. I like when a burger doesn't have too many condiments on it. The burger was awesome! The patty had great char flavor and was perfectly cooked. I loved the pretzel bun! Sometimes pretzel buns are hard and chewy but this one was fluffy and the right texture. I like non-sloppy burgers and this one was perfect! My fiance had the Lemongrass Chicken sandwich. He liked it and the asian slaw too but he said it made the bun soggy so next time he'll ask to have it on the side. He loved his 2 sides of fries and I did too! They were super crispy and not soggy or oil logged at all. I can tell they fry in fresh oil. It took us over 20 min to get home and eat so I was surprised that the fries were still so crisp. Went to Aina Grills after being a satisfied subscriber to Aina Meals, which is a sister company that provides healthy and delicious meal prep. The location is great and right off a main road (Farrington Highway) in Waipahu.

After going multiple times and trying several menu items, i must say that everything I have tried is 10/10. The chopped steak w/ vegetables was given in generous amount and has a homemade taste just like moms would make. Their spicy garlic shrimp is savory and is as good if not better than the famous north shore trucks. If you have a shrimp craving and don’t want to deal with the traffic or drive, just head on down to this central Oahu location. They also have an Ahi Katsu that that Is ono if you’re in the mood for fish. For sides, they have a variety of options such as white rice, brown rice, Spanish rice, Mac salad, roasted potatoes w/cheese sauce, fried noodles and salad. I would highly recommend the Spanish rice and roasted baby potatoes w/ cheese sauce as your side options.
