Went on 10 AUG with the family for a late lunch. Parking is either meter parking on nearby side streets or at a nearby paid parking plaza. As far as we could tell, we were the only diners and decided to sit on the outdoor patio. During our stay, we did see one local come to pick up a large lunch order. Chips and salsa were readily available while waiting for our food. Chips were not warm and salsa was just average. Service seemed to be slow. We put about 54 minutes on the parking meter and with 23 minutes left on the meter we still had not received our orders. I asked to make change with the waitress and she was kind enough to give me 3 quarters to put into the meter. Once I returned, our food had arrived. I ordered the torta, but waitress said they did not have any bread so got the 2 tacos asada with mexican rice and refried beans. Other orders for lunch were the children's cheese quesadilla with a side of fries, and chicken chimichangas. Overall, food did not disappoint but at the same time did not wow. If you want to serve up authentic mexican tacos, better go further than just sticking Mexican flag toothpicks in the meal. Better serve some salsa, or small dish with some chopped cilantro and onions and some lime wedges. Feedback from the children's quesadilla and french fries was more positive. Feedback included, "they put the perfect amount of cheese, not too much and not too little." As far as the fries, they were a hit as well. They came out "at just the right temperature and just the right amount of crunch". Overall, a better bet but much more expensive than taco bell. There are better Mexican restaurants on island and for sure everyone has probably had better elsewhere.

Sitting at Los Garcias right now and we are very happy. Though they were out of the plant-based "meat" options, my strict vegetarian wife was able to get the Chile Rellano and a mixed grilled veggie taco. I got the carnitas plate. Both are quite tasty. Chips and salsa was brought to the table quickly, as well as our drinks (horchata and virgin strawberry margarita, both good). We also got the cheese dip to start, which has a nice little zing of spice to it. Overall, I am giving 5 stars because the service from the staff has been really top-notch and the food has been tasty. This is definitely a family run operation from what I can see, and I was happy to support their business during these difficult times!

This our 4th time visiting Oahu and each time we’ve come we cannot miss stopping at Los Garcia’s. The food is genuinely rich, fresh Mexican food full of flavor. Portion sizes are quite large and leave you full! Make sure to stop by and support a small family owned restaurant! Parking can be a little tough to figure out at first, but there is a public parking garage behind the McDonald’s around the corner. And you’ll park, walk through around the corner into the restaurant.

Went for dinner tonight. Music was good, people seemed happy and served. Not sure what happened to us - but after we ordered and received water, chips and a beer - we were ignored until I asked why groups of people came in and got their meals while we were still waiting for our appetizer. The singer finished, lots of people left, more came in… and our table was in front of the cashier - every waiter walked by us and yet they forgot about us. They left our app and meals sitting under a heat lamp - we are guessing they just forgot about us. Nothing better than cool shrimp that was left under a heat lamp. Super hungry when I arrived. Super hungry when i left… would not have been so bad if just one person acknowledged their mistake before I had to ask for help 3 times about our food before someone checked on our food. At least there are 2 other Mexican restaurants in Kailua. I would give this restaurant a negative number if I could and honestly the only food I got to eat was the initial chips - which were fine, although the salsa was...

Used to be one of the best mexican restaurants on island. Now it is run down, you feel like it needs a good wiping down and sanitation treatment. Food is expensive and they give very little. You get the smallest bowl of salsa and chips. Food has a descent flavor but for the price you get so little. My husband had the smallest taco salad I have ever seen. Lime rice had no flavor and was sticky and mushy. Guacamole was spoiled on the salad. I could go on, but even if the food was well made, I wouldn't come back because of the prices and the lack of feeling clean. Its like they have the restaurant and just do what they have to, to make money and get by. Not because they care and like what their doing. Service was also mediocre. To bad, it was the best, now its best to avoid. Not worth it,...
