Ok, calling all Hilo local foodies: turn up and try the most incredible Mexican food to ever grace the Islands let alone Hilo side. You will not be disappointed. This place is worthy of being among all the many foodie establishments that reside on the East Side. As a California transplant from a Hispanic neighborhood, I was shocked to find this place here in my own backyard. My childhood memories flooded back. The quality, the freshness, the ingredients, nothing has been compromised. We had the nachos, a fish taco, a chicken taco and carne asada taco, each one a was a unique delectable treat. The beans are completely grandma's kitchen style. Nothing canned, slow cooked to perfection. Same with chicken, slow cooked to tender perfection, seasoned and shredded to perfect fork size chunks, the quality surpasses anything else you will find in Hawaii, no grizzle or anything other than love. No canned queso, only fresh toasted hand made chips, high quality shredded cheese, fresh made pico de gallo, cilantro, fresh made guac and beautiful criss cross dressed lines of crema. The fish taco was amazing, and worthy of competing with any high end establishment on this Island. The carne asada kept it real, grilled to perfection, the focus on the flavor and quality of the cut. My only concern is how the heck is this place going to stay open and maintain this quality with mainland prices. The owner has big plans for his establishment here and hopes he doesn't need to take his truck Kona side. Let's show him the love his food deserves. If you are looking for an epic food truck on the East side of...

So my first time eating here. Dine in. Ordered at 1206. Food ready at 1225. It was lunch time and pretty busy with 1 at cashier and two in kitchen. I ordered the California Chicken Burrito and two beef tacos and a bottled Apple Soda. Total was just under $30 which included a 15% tip. Burrito - $16. Two tacos -$5.50 and the Apple Soda was $4.00. So the burrito was pretty bad. Will not order that one again though it was very good sized. The two beef tacos were tasty but they offered only one sauce with it which I did not care for. Squeezed a lime wedge on the tacos and was very tasty. Sindral Mundet Soda was tasty and cold. I will come back but I'll stay away from the chicken...was not impressed. I want to try their fajitas. They were out of chips and salsa as well as shrimp. For now, just 3 stars. I thought a little pricey for the quality but it is Hawaii and they have rent to pay....

This was a food truck with a tent type structure with picnic tables. We ordered 3 fish tacos which were Mahi Mahi. Opens the box and was pleasantly surprised. The presentation was excellent. I really liked the fact they gave me a line for each taco!! They put a good amount of Mahi in each taco. The siracha sauce had just the right amount of kick to it. The outdoor seating was ok. I wouldn’t want to be eating there if it was raining. Each taco was $7. We ordered chips and salsa with guacamole. $2 for a small cup of guacamole was disappointing. I didn’t feel like we had enough salsa for chips either. Overall good experience. I would eat...
