Troy’s is a fantastic dive bar, especially if you’re looking for a laid-back vibe. The staff are incredibly friendly, and they offer karaoke, which is always a fun time.

Vibe: From the outside, it’s pretty unassuming, but once inside, you’ll find a spacious venue with plenty of tables, darts, and TVs—a classic sports bar atmosphere.

Karaoke: While it’s not super organized, I actually like how it encourages people to tip the KJ (karaoke jockey). You head to the corner of the bar, pick a song from the book, fill out a slip with the song title and number, and include $1 per song. Just a tip: if you submit multiple slips at once, you’ll end up singing all your songs back-to-back!

You track your turn by watching for your song number on the screen. When it’s your turn, look for the person who just finished singing — you need to grab it from them. What’s great is that you can sing right from your chair, which makes it feel even more relaxed.

GREAT place! Local dives are the best. My husband & I went during happy hour on a Monday so not many people at the bar but karaoke was still going. We met Troy and a couple other individuals there who were all welcoming and had good-natured banter. Troy was talking to us (between karaoke songs) about where we are from, favorite spots, etc. We didn’t feel excluded nor “looked down on” for being a tourist as we are aware there are a couple places that feel that way. The place kept getting better and better by the minute… one of the bartender’s nephews had the most incredible voice that we had ever heard during karaoke… as in should be in the recording studio. Then, Troy’s lab mix named Irish came out who is an absolute sweetheart so that was the cherry on top. Highly recommend to stop by for a drink. Can’t wait to come back for...

Finally went into Troy's, and the atmosphere was just great! I have had problems in other local bars because I'm not a local, but not here. As a matter of fact I met Troy, and when I told him about that he made me feel extremely welcomed! He introduced me to several of the regulars, making me feel even more comfortable. I'd definitely recommend that anyone visiting Kauai go there for a drink or two, and some karaoke....
