Kauai is lucky Sushi Blue Wave opened here
It's the best Sushi and Ramen on the Island and probably in Hawaii Every Nigiri is a whole separate dish and experience just chew slowly because as the fish heats up in your mouth the flavors will change and develop
Even the simpler rolls are better than what I've had in Hawaii, they put attention in the little things, the cucumber and avocado roll is better than it should be
Ramen there is exquisite, paired with a bowl of rice and tempura for the leftover broth is an existential experience
Every specialty roll is well balanced and in harmony with the flavor of the fish, nothing is too overpowering throughout the bite
Service is great, greeted by Teddy you'll be taken care of by the everyone and they're stoked of the food there and will recommend what's REALLY GOOD for their new arrivals of fish
The Kitchen Staff is skilled and driven they're pushing the limits of what my stomach can fit with the attention to detail, and Chef Koji is a genius according to my tastebuds he has paired flavors to fish I didn't used to like, now I love. I used to be repulsed by Uni, raw Scallops and Mackerel, now they are my guilty pleasures
the food no can defense, all your tastebuds are belong to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came twice on our trip to Kauai this past week It gets crowded so go early and sign up on waitlist, no reservations
First visit- 5/5 Great service and all the nigiri sushi were amazing! Just a bit disappointed they donāt offer the head for the amaebi. Also one of the best miso soups on the island!
Second visit- 4/5 We came a second time around the same time, 5pm for dinner. We were maybe 3rd in line. Service was still good and we ordered pretty much the same thing but added a yellowtail jalepeno sashimi and a wagyu surf and turf roll. Iād skip the roll but my mom liked it. This time they were sold out of several things (5:15pm) such as their special seared yellowtail, wagyu sushi (we only were able to get one piece), and a few other specials. This time the uni and amaebi came out in diced up pieces and noticeably less fish/rice, which was disappointing and hard to eat since the small chopped pieces would easily fall apart. The quality is great and comparable to nicer sushi places in California but sad that they changed up the amount of uni / amaebi and the presentation
Overall I highly recommend Easy parking, small lot on side or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHost asked us if ābar seats were okā and I couldnāt be thankful enough that we got the opportunity. We got to sit and eat and watch the magic happen. Best sushi me and my wife have ever had. Everything melts in your mouth. Our favorite was the blue-crab and Yellowtail roll but honestly, everything we had was stellar, the dry-aged kampachi was delicious as well. Considering the quality of the food itself the prices were extremely generous. We had no idea until our waitress informed us but this place has only been open since March! Itās also japanese-owned and the head chef is michelin-recommended. If youāre enjoying a kauai vacation or a fan of sushi, this will be an amazing experience. Sit at the bar if you have the...
