I called and placed an order for a pick up. When I did, I asked how long and he said 20 minutes. I showed up exactly at that time I had to run and my mom had to go to work. This horrible old man (most likely the owner) told my mother who was standing by the soda machines, clipping her hair up & minding her business to, “STOP doing that WITH YOUR HAIR IN HERE because we have HAD several people complain about the hair all in the air!” So rightfully, I went off on him. He THEN tried to say “this isn’t a beauty salon” SIR ARE YOU SERIOUS?! HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT WHEN YOU HAVE NO HAIRNET ON?! Neither did the cook in KITCHEN!! NOR the delivery boy that came in and was standing in the SAME AREA as my mother! (the dining area). Soooo, this man is literally insane for thinking he can run a business with this disgusting level of service. Why is having hair in your face that needs to be clipped back a crime?! like relax!! It’s ridiculous that you think that’s okay, and I have the video of your horrible service. So sad that another paying customer had to suffer through your attitude as well, while waiting because YOU CANT MANAGE YOUR TIME!!!! No need for an attitude when you were the one under delivering the promise you made to a customer… multiple customers that were waiting patiently. But you had to open your grumpy mouth… and make a UNNECESSARY COMMENT, to my mother. We just wanted our food, but you started with the right one on the wrong day, good job grump!! 👍🏽👍🏽You just lost paying customers. isn’t this a new business? 🤔 sick 🤢🤮 didn’t even leave with what I wanted. Overall, terrible experience. If you want a miserable man who hates his job and life and takes it out on customers, to serve you mediocre French fries… then eat...
Read moreBeware. I arrived at this establishment to pick up my Uber eats order just to be greeted by the owner, who said I would have to wait 30 minutes more. I expressed my disappointment by saying oh man, and I proceeded to sit near a table to wait. Then suddenly a drunken man who is sitting in the restaurant began yelling at me, telling me to relax, pointing his finger at my face and threatening me with bodily harm several times. I told him and the owner that I was calling 911 for harassment and threats of harm.
The drunk man became more upset and said that he was a retired police officer, and that the department was not going to do anything. The owner then told me to wait for my order outside instead of the aggressor. The man was allowed to stay in the restaurant, putting the other customers that were inside at risk
A minute or so afterwards, the owner took the drunk man to the kitchen ( again putting at risk his employees that were there working) so he could leave through the back door. When the police man arrived, the man came from around the corner to threaten me again while the police man was standing there.
The police then walked the man back to the bar down the street while he took my statement. This was my first time there and the last time at this establishment. It was a horrible and embarrassing experience, especially seeing how the owner treated me while the drunk man received special treatment. The drunk man was not the owners fault but how I was treated by the owner was shocking. This place is definitely not a safe...
Read moreHad an interesting dining experience at Iggy's in Hawthorne today, 9/30/24. Have been a regular customer for some time and have never had a problem. Ordered a hot sandwich as part of a larger order to be picked up. Got it home and saw the bread was a little burnt and hard. Asked the owner to change out the bread and he refused. He indicated the sandwich was perfect and he felt there was no way he could further please me, the customer. He said a "homeless man" would gladly eat the perfect sandwich as made so it should be good enough for me. He said he only makes the pizza and it is not his fault I cannot eat it. He threw the $10.00 I had paid him earlier for that part of my order on the counter and pointed me towards the door. To say the least, I was completely shocked given I had never experienced a problem before. Left the money on the counter. As I exited, the owner yelled out, "you forgot your money". I said, "keep it". I consider it a lesson learned and thank you for pushing me to...
