Let me start with this. If you are on the fence about trying this place, jump off the fence and run there quickly! Was so happy I stumbled onto something about them online and tried it. The shrimp Po Boy was outstanding. At 6:15 at night the bread was still unbelievably fresh. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and there was definitely a good amount on the sandwich. The pickles were surprisingly crisp and not too overwhelmingly big. Sauce was delicious and the lettuce seemed very fresh. Price I felt was also very reasonable. Gumbo was solid though I will go with less hot sauce next time just so I can enjoy the flavors more. Plenty of meat in the gumbo and the quantity of rice was right on. I will be making the 40 minute drive again hopefully soon so I can try the wings amongst several other items i circled on the menu. Owners were also very nice people and will take the recommendation to try the red beans and rice next time I am there. An easy 5 star...
Read moreExtremely disappointed ! 1 reason is because I went off of the reviews but I should've looked more into it because the good reviews are from YEARS AGO! I paid $33 for 2 small fries,10 garlic parm wings & shrimps. I don't mind spending a lot on food but it has to be worth it! The chicken was cold and smelled like wet dog DISGUSTING The shrimps were soggy (I put it in my air fryer when I got home) the fries were also soggy and I put that in my air fryer. Like how is this place still running ?? I'm so mad because I was so excited to try this food. Plus the customer service was trash ! I called to tell him and he said I came 25 minutes after my food was ready but the chicken was cold and I'm shrimps were hot! Also he called me to tell me my food was ready as I was getting out of my car.... DONT...
Read moreWhat? A Poboy in Hawthorne, that's Hawthorne, New Jersey nevertheless? What a surprise! Totally blew me away. This is a hole in the wall not likely to be noticed by anyone, but it needs no fancy facade nor bright neon lights. Not when you put out a Poboy like they do! The oysters were Krunch, that's with a K! and soft and jucy inside. The shrimps were succulent, so tender and full of taste. This must be what the angels get to eat! (If they are from New Orleans, that is)! Fried pickle just tickled my pallet, just couldn't stop eating them. Oh! The owner treated us to fried Orios at the end and I've never felt so justified instead of eating fried Orios full of guilt. Thank you for being there Tim's Poboy! Boy, I wonder what the rich boys eat if the poor boys are eating...
