We are regulars at Brusters since it opened. We REALLY REALLY love their icecream especially that they have non-dairy options. Staff is always helpful and very friendly. Last night though my son who is 2yr 9mo always gets strawberry icecream it's his FAVORITE and within a couple hours he got VERY ill, started throwing up all night long and got diarrhea. He ate a normal blan dinner we always have at home, nothing out of the ordinary (grapes and a bagel.) He was finally able to hold down some electrolyte solution at 5:30am and finally fell asleep. This morning he woke up feeling just fine, he doesn't look sick, no vomiting, no diarrhea. So I realized it was probably food poisoning, he threw up until ALL the pink was gone and his throw up was clear.....maybe the icecream melted and refroze.....so I just called Brusters at 11am and spoke to a woman (I didn't understand her name, she had a fairly strong accent) and she didn't really take my concerns seriously, just told me she had no other complaints and she was sorry. I worked in the food industry for almost 7 years, I was serve safe certified, it's better to be safe than sorry. I also told her we went at night when it's freezing and there was nobody there and they closed in 2 hours. I doubt anyone else ordered strawberry icecream (as I called right when they opened this morning) I told her to at least let the owner know. My son was extremely sick all night and I really wouldn't want another child going through that. Not looking to cause any trouble, I just think it's reasonable enough to not serve that flavor until talking to the owner or someone who may have information on whether someone else complained before me or if they knew it melted and refroze. That's all! We will continue to be regulars, we love Brusters, but please take something like that seriously as we are a family of 4 and he was the only one who had strawberry and the only one who got very quickly violently ill and then better the next day. That's not a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been waiting to try this place out. It does not disappoint!
Let me mention this first off. There is no indoor seating here. You order at one window and pick up at another. There are some very nice tables outside, some with large umbrellas.
There are a LOT of flavors on the menu, along with some specialty items and a fascinating variety of edible and disposable containers. We were there realtively early in the day. While there was understandably only one server on duty and they were probably busier than anticipated for shortly after lunch on a weekday, we were able to place our order quickly and received our ice cream very shortly afterward.
The ice cream is premium in price but very rich and creamy. We shared a cup of Key Lime Pie which I found to be amazingly delicious. The cup had two very generous scoops for about $6 and it was plenty to satisfy as an after-lunch treat for both of us.
The service was great, parking very easy, and the ice cream over-the-top tasty....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI served my first Brusterās ice cream cake and an ice cream pie yesterday to 28 students and their families. Several adults commented that the ice cream and cake tasted significantly fresher than other brands of ice cream cakes theyāve eaten. I agree!! There was a BIG difference. The ice cream was FRESH, RICH in flavor, and CREAMY. The chocolate cake layer was VERY fresh, flavorful, and moist. (I didnāt know how disappointing other brands of ice cream cakes were until I ate a Brusterās ice cream cake! Brusterās was so shockingly good that I was gobsmacked that weād been settling with other brands all these years.) Our family will be celebrating with Brusterās ice cream cakes from now on! I think Iāll be making up excuses 𤣠just to celebrate and buy an ice cream cake from Brusterās! šš° Did I mention how fresh it tastes?! OMGosh! I think I need another slice of Brusterās cake right now! #Larapin...
