Parrando's Tex-Mex Grill — Restaurant in Haymarket

I placed an online order for pick up at 6:13pm for myself and 2 kids. My pick up time was 30 minutes/ 6:43pm. I arrived to the restaurant at 6:42pm and was greeted by the hostess. I told her I was waiting for a pick up order and gave my name. She came back and stated it would be just a few minutes they were still working on it. At 6:55pm she approached me again and said it would be just another few minutes. I asked how much longer because I needed to get home and she told me "5 minutes at the most". I noticed another gentleman that was also waiting and was told the same thing (spoiler alert: he ended up waiting almost as long as I did for his food). I stepped outside to call my husband who needed to be somewhere to inform him that it would be just a few more minutes. I came back inside at 7pm. I was avoided by all of the staff until 7:15pm when I was told they were boxing it up now. Well that was a lie. I continued to wait being avoided by the hostess who now was not even standing near the door to greet patrons. At one point while I was waiting there I experienced an irate customer SCREAMING at the manager about their poor dine in experience which was very uncomfortable and off putting. I kept considering cancelling my order and just going through Mc Donald's because it would have been faster, and in hind sight I am mad that I didn't. Almost 100 dollars with tip for Mc Donald's quality food its WAY too much. Anyways, I continued to stand there staring into the food preparation area where the hostess was now putting away cups avoiding eye contact with me so that she didn't have to disappoint me further when I asked how much longer it would be. The manager was now behind the counter boxing things up and I ended up getting my food at 7:38pm. Almost an hour later. I live right behind the restaurant so I don't have a far drive. When I arrived home, the food was cold. I had ordered the nachos with Chorizo, and the Chorizo tasted and looked like hot dogs. The chips were burnt and missing the jalapeno peppers they say they come with. Overall, this was a poor experience and I will not be giving them my business again, nor will I recommend them to...

I have been looking forward to this place opening for quite a while. We went on Friday night and, while I understand they opened recently and expected there to be some hiccups, it was a sh!t show to say the least. Way over priced for the food quality too. It was smokey and chaotic when we first walked in which should have been our first indicator to leave, but we decided to stick it out and give it a try hoping for the best. The host, who was also serving as a food/drink runner finally came over and directed us to grab menus and find a table. Then you go to order at the counter. There was no direction where to line up so people were lining up on both sides of the restaurant to proceed up to the one cashier to order. Seeing as there were a lot of people sitting at empty tables waiting for items to be brought to them I decided to order everything while I was up there (chile con carne -which is queso with beans and ground beef, a steak burrito, an order of cheese enchiladas, and 2 house margaritas). It was $80 with tip! We waited 30 minutes before the (cold) queso came out with a handful of chips that were also stale. It took another 15 minutes to find someone to tell that it was missing the beans and ground beef and get it corrected. Our margaritas came out 45 minutes after ordering, after they ran out of glasses and had to wait for them to be washed. Their "house" sour mix tasted like cheap store bought mix and they definitely were not worth the price. After waiting 90 minutes, our food finally came out. The red chile sauce I asked for on my enchiladas that the cashier said they were out of was in fact on my husband's burrito. The only thing on the plate that was hot was the beans. Everything else was room temp. People coming in had no idea what to do as the host then switched over to helping the ONE food runner. I truly wish I had just followed my gut to go up and cancel our order after waiting 30 minutes with no food or drinks in sight so we could go somewhere else to eat. They have a lot to improve on and prove that the food is worth the prices they are charging. I'm not sure we'd go back even after giving them time to work...

Food was blah nothing special and the service was terrible. I waited for a long time before the server came to greet me at my table. Then he disappeared and some girl came over with my chips - she asked if he was getting my drink - I told her yes - but she is the one who came back with my drink. Then the server brought out my food. I began to eat it... but I noticed, I had no salsa. So - none of this is a big deal yet - what set me off was the fact that there were 5 employees standing around talking to each other - WHO ALL MADE EYE CONTACT WITH ME AND SAW THAT I HAD STOPPED EATING AND HAD THE "I NEED SOMEONE LOOK" but NOT ONE OF THEM came over!!! My server was nowhere in sight. Finally I just raised my hand in the air and was like can someone come help me?? 1 of the 5 doing nothing employees came over and was already talking excuses as he approached my table - he kept saying in broken English - "oh.. no.. I not your server.. you need the server to do.. what is the problem? " I said "WHERE IS MY SERVER!?" so he got the server, server came over he was like oh I am so sorry for blah blah blah - he said "I am the only server here". I was like so what?? You have 5 people standing over there doing nothing!!! I have no salsa - where is my salsa? Why has no one come to check on me? I said never mind I just want my check and I want to leave. Then the girl who brought my drink made 3 separate trips to give me the boxes, small container and bag so I could bag everything up. And she started in with the excuses and rambling nonsense too! It was a bunch of empty apologies and honestly it made no sense. She said something like, "we look for your server and we don't see him looking for you so when you have a server we look for him - it is our job to see if the server is looking for you and we did not see him looking for you so.... " I just shook my head. I certainly won't be going back...
