In the past I always had a good experience with Taco Grande. However, this particular time we ordered a delivery, it was absolutely horrible. I gave specific instructions where to leave the no contact order. Not only was the order not put in the specified place, we weren’t even notified the order was delivered. We would have liked a phone call or a knock at the door to let’s us know the food was delivered. I called after waiting for a little over an hour to ask where our order was and I was told the order had been delivered. As I was talking with the person in charge for the evening my family checked out the order only to find out we were missing a drink and some of the food we ordered. We began to eat and found the tacos were like rubber from sitting for 15 minutes outside and the rest of the food was cold. The tacos had maybe at best a teaspoon of meat in them and very little of anything else either. The only bright side of the entire ordeal was speaking with the manager who called me by my request. She was very good and rectified the entire issue. We did have some food leftover, however we tossed in the trash because reheating would have made it worse to chew than initially. This place has really gone down hill fast since the ownership has changed this last time. The prices have risen for sub par food and customer service. If the owners can’t keep the standard previous owners had then I would suggest they sell the business to someone who has a better sense of customer...
Read moreI want to say the first two ladies to post the 5 stars had to be a fake review. They both have the same reviews, same places, saying sane things. I have learned to not just look at the reviews and trust if they are good. Someone the other day told me that they worked at a place and were told to write some good reviews. Her comment made me go back and look at some of your 5 star reviews to see if they might be fake. Like I said the first 2 ladies are the same person posting same reviews at same places. I smell a skunk.
Response to the owner: I ordered a smothered bean burrito. It was like thick beans warmed up from the can. My daughter ordered an enchilada and a soft taco. My daughter also a tostada for her son. My husband ordered the nacho supreme. I didn't taste any of theirs, but My grandson was the only one that ate most of his. The rest of us all threw ours away. I came back and told some friends and family about the food my other kids have laughed and teased because they said for me to throw food away, especially Mexican it had to be horrible.
If I could give a -star it would be -5. Worst and I mean worst food. I don't believe in wasting food, but had to throw mine in the trash. The owners ought to be ashamed of themselves to serve food like this. They do have some reviews that posted good food, don't let these reviews fool you! A couple comments posted said it had new owners and that it used to be a good place to eat, these 3-5 star ratings must be from...
Read moreI've spent the last 3 weeks in Hays, Ks for work at a hotel near the Taco Grande off of I70. After spending 4.5 minutes at the counter waiting for someone to wait on me, I ordered 2 bean burritos with sour cream and nachos. The order was to go! The young kid working had zero customer service and appeared as if I was disturbing him. I was the only person in the restaurant. I received my order, went back to my hotel, and sat down to eat. The beans were beyond dry and inedible. They were not creamy, but hard and lumpy. As in they were overcooked or I got the beans that were the last in the pan. I tore a bit of the burrito off in an attempt to get to softer beans. It was only followed by more disappointment when there was no sour cream. But I sure paid for the sour cream!! The beans were so gross, I wouldn't feed them to my dogs. The cheese dip was nothing spectacular and had little flavor, the nacho chips were stale. The mild sauce tasted like a watered down barbecue sauce. I prefer quality over quantity. Overall it was awful, I didn't finish the 1st burrito and threw the 2nd one away. At this point, I was no longer hungry but rather felt nauseous to know this is the disgusting food that people actually pay for. I will be back for work several times and you can bet I will never eat it or give Taco Grande a 2nd chance. Very...
