Wow. This place seriously impressed me. I don't eat out very often, and I really have to be in the mood for Indian food, but I could see myself returning here often. I was not hungry at all and was just bringing family out to eat, but I ordered a half order of the Tandoori Chicken and from the first bite, I knew I was going to finish the whole thing, regardless of how full I already was. The vegetables in the dish tasted amazing. They had a little punch to them that went wonderfully with the chicken. The dish was also bright and colorful and a delight just to look at. We also had an order of the garlic cheese naan and it was cooked so perfectly crisp that it was an absolute pleasure to bite into. The staff was very polite and attentive, so we never really had to wait long for any kind of service. They explained every dish we asked about and offered suggestions based on what we liked, so you know they are passionate about the food. It really makes the difference from someone who is just there to do their job and collect tips. The restaurant itself is a little on the small side, but I would see that as a positive rather than a negative. It will never be too loud as you enjoy your delicious food. I haven't written a restaurant review in a long time, but this place absolutely deserves to be known for its quality.

Pretty Disappointing food. We got carried away with the excellent rating on google but i dont think i am going back. Food lacked flavor and everything was just tossed in ketchup and sauces. We ordered Chicken Tikka - 1/5 Really horrible and pathetic. No charred marks and who rolls Chicken Tikka in tomato or chilli sauces. Lost its flavor completely and totally undercooked. Chili momos - 2/5 Fried Veg Momos tossed in chili sauce. No flavor except ketchup. Stay away Veg Momos - 3/5 Plain steam momos served with jhol sauce but not chili momo sauce. Flavor was just mediocre Gobi 65 - 0/5 Who serves boiled Gobhi? dipped in batter and just covered with useless combination of sauces. No taste, no crunch at all and total waste of money. Vegetable Chowmein - 1/5 Mild in flavor, thick noodles and no vegetables. Amount of oil in chowmein was more than veggies. One has to locate veggies. Just be careful when you go there. We reallyhad horrible experience.

What a wonderful dining experience we had at Aama's kitchen! we were greeted immediately and told we could sit anywhere we pleased. We chose a cute window seat and enjoy the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. We started with veggie samosa and the delicious house salad, both were very flavorful. The main dishes came out quickly and we loved the cute heart drawn in the chicken tikka masala! we also tried the aloo gobi and garlic cilantro naan. The chicken tikka masala was one of the best we've ever had, a perfect balance of spice and the chicken was so tender. We really loved the aloo gobi as well, the cauliflower was also very tender and the potatoes were perfectly cooked, the sauce we could not stop dipping back into with our naan. The owner came over to speak with us and we realized we're neighbors what a joy to patronize a neighborhood restaurant and eat local! We can't wait to come back and try more of the Himalayan side of the menu!

I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by the incredibly warm and hospitable staff. The owner's genuine passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere truly made me feel like a cherished guest. I am originally from Nepal and the flavors of my childhood came flooding back when I tasted the Goat Thali, Chicken Momo's, Chicken Tikka Masala, Virgin Mango Mojito, and Gulab Jamun. I would rate the goat thali a 20 out of 10 - it was bursting with authentic flavors and spices that transported me back to my mother's kitchen! I am beyond grateful to have discovered this gem in the Bay Area, and I can confidently say that I will always drop by when I am visiting SF. For anyone seeking an authentic Nepali culinary experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! Prepare to be enchanted by the exceptional food, heartfelt service, and an ambiance that feels like a home away from home.

I recently visited amma kitchen table for 4 and we had an overall wonderful experience. My boyfriend so picky when it came to Indian food but butter chicken and naan was so good. The vegetarian dishes were particularly impressive pure Nepali fav. Our meals were expertly prepared and presented. The menu offered something for everyone, including great vegetarian choices. While the food was outstanding, the service could use some refinement. I would appreciate it if we could get our plates and utensils promptly, rather than having to wait until after the food arrives. Additionally, it would be helpful if we didn't have to gather them from other tables. As someone familiar with the industry, I understand the challenges, but a bit more attention and efficiency would elevate the experience. The compliment tea they offer was lovely surprise. We’re looking forward to returning for a perfect dining .

I missed it last time I was out here, but I got them today, and boy, I'm glad I did. I haven't had indian food since I was a teenager and never tried Nepalese cuisine, so I had no idea what to expect. The owner took my order and served with a big accent but an even bigger smile. He had some soothing classical/elevator music playing, which makes the environment really comfortable and brought the food out in just about 10 min. They brought my cold water out in a glass bottle, which was pretty cool, and brought the Chicken Tikka Masala and rice out in two separate and unique dishes. I asked for the spice to be mild, just to make sure I could taste and enjoy it. Now I've never tried anything like it before, so I'm just going to say that it was perfect in every way, so much flavor and completely satisfying. I will definitely visit here again next time I'm nearby.
