Paris Baguette — Restaurant in Hayward

I’m writing this review in hopes that the owner of this Paris Baguette location (29213 Mission Blvd Suite B & C, Hayward, CA 94544) will see it and take steps to improve the business.

Parking was a challenge, but we managed to find a spot on the side. We placed an online order and arrived to pick it up, where we were greeted by a gentleman who appeared to be the manager or possibly the owner, as he was not in uniform. Unfortunately, the entire experience was disorganized and frustrating.

From what I observed, this individual seemed to micro-manage the staff while appearing visibly confused and overwhelmed. We gave him our order number, and he instructed an employee to retrieve it, but then stopped communicating with us entirely. Instead, he told us to grab a seat, but it became clear he had forgotten about our order.

After waiting and realizing something was wrong, I approached him again to ask about the status of our order. He gave me a blank, confused look, as though he had no idea what I was talking about.

This location desperately needs better management. The owner should consider stepping back and allowing the employees to do their jobs without unnecessary interference. As it stands, the lack of organization and poor customer service make it difficult to recommend this location.

This location is new, but their attention to all their customers is top priority. The staff are all attentive, including the manager or maybe owner. A HUGE shout out though to I believe it was Morgan or Megan, and I’m sorry for not posting sooner! (And spacing on the name)They were clearly in the middle of Inventory for their pastries when I walked up to a full line and asked if they would assist me. I explained that my partners favorite pastry was the fruit tart. Quickly noticing there were only two left she started to pull it from the cooler as we spoke. I continued to explain that I wanted to use to tart as a vessel for an engagement ring. Excitedly they started offering suggestions on how this could be accomplished. Finally they left my view for a few mins and came back, pastry bag in hand with the same crème filling and a chocolate disk. Well, they said Yes! The pastry selection and seating area are beautiful, but the layout is quite confusing for customers. It's unclear where to start when placing an order, and improvements are needed to help guide customers through the process. Staff seemed unfamiliar with the ordering system; I learned that you need to choose your pastry first before ordering. Since it was my first visit, I mentioned this to the staff member who was helping me, but he suggested that I download the app instead.
