Panda Express — Restaurant in Hayward

I give this place four stars because of what happened to me. I love this place a lot and it's really great if you want to eat here. You can eat inside if you want to but I always get the food and then take it home to eat. I got myself a box of food to go and I got my mom who wanted a small box of eggplant tofu. They call it eggplant tofu because it's supposed to be mostly eggplant. When you order the eggplant tofu be aware that they give you eggplant tofu. They call it eggplant tofu because it's supposed to be mostly eggplant. When you order the eggplant tofu be aware that they give you more Whole Foods and eggplants. When you look at the tray in front of you when you're looking at your selection of food you would like to order, it looks like they are cutting costs and putting more tofu and eggplant because eggplant is more expensive than tofu. They think that you deserve more tofu in your order of eggplant tofu and eggplant. When I ask for more eggplant she like she can't hear and then just randomly scoops whatever. Update: You can now go inside to pick up your order to go, which is much better than the previous chaos at the door. I'm awarding another star for this.

Prior to the pandemic, I was a regular customer and pleased with this location, so I'm giving them a couple of stars for that. However, now things have completely changed and I suggest you do not go to this Panda Express. We did online ordering and it was a disaster. They have not organized the process so people who have already ordered online are competing with people who want to order at the pick up area. They couldn't find our order and kept saying we made a mistake and ordered from the Southland Mall location. We had the email showing we had the right address and it still took several minutes of arguing with two employees before they did find our order sitting there. When we got home we discovered they messed up the order, mismatching the entrees with the sides that we requested. We received no sauce for the teriyaki chicken and no fortune cookies. The food was good, I'll give them that. HOWEVER.... how the heck do you nor know what the eff is in your food. I love shrimp, but medically I cannot have certain items because they will make me sick. I asked two different employees what is in the Five Flavored Shrimp and both said shimp. REALLY cause I hadn't gathered that fact. They said it's called five flavor because of the sauce. I said okay then, what's in the sauce? I kid you not they had no clue and wanted me to try it. Obviously I'm asking because certain things I can't eat.
