During the covid-19 pandemic, we’ve been very cautious about which restaurants to order from. We picked up our dinner from Tin’s Teapot Bistro and were very thankful for these hygienic practices: - minimization of touching: instead of customers sharing the same menu, customers were provided individual disposable menus to check box their preferred dishes - all employees wore masks and gloves - all customers and delivery staff were required to stay a safe social distance while waiting for their orders and had to be wearing masks - a bottle of hand sanitizer was at the front door for free usage The manager was in the restaurant and personally greeted each customer and delivery person with warm eyes (I could tell that he was smiling even with his mask on). Business was really good. Within 10 minutes, we saw two delivery people getting bulk orders and 5 other people picking up their own takeout. The drive home was about 30 minutes but most of the food was still warm. We loved the beef fried noodles, pepper shrimp, mango pudding, and egg tarts.

Think twice before going to this dim sum restaurant with CATERPILLAR in their food. I am deeply disappointed with my recent dining experience at your dim sum restaurant. To my shock and horror, I discovered a caterpillar in the food I was served. When I brought this issue to the attention of your manager, their response was incredibly rude and dismissive, claiming that finding a “CATERPILLAR” in the food was Normal. This is completely unacceptable and unsanitary. I expected a higher standard of hygiene and professionalism from your establishment, and I am appalled by the lack of concern for customer satisfaction and safety displayed by your manager. This experience has left me with a strong aversion to returning to your restaurant in the future. If you like Caterpillar with some extra protein in your food. As show in the pictures feel free to come visit this beautiful business.

One of the best dim sum places to dine at! Had so much food that filled me up. The chicken feet was so tender and soft, the tripe was perfectly seasoned, siu mai was packed with meat, Chinese broccoli had a good amount of sauce to season without being overwhelming, yellow glass noodles were delicious and delightful, eggplant was crispy on the outside yet soft, airy and fluffy on the inside, but the piece de resistance was the accoutrements of Chinese mustard which cleaned my sinuses (a little goes a long way) and the chrysanthemum jasmine tea was excellently strong and fragrant while not being too overpowering, being a great palate cleanser to wash down the delightfully fatty and savory dishes. I would recommend the chicken feet so highly! Compliments to the chef because I'm coming back here again for not only the food but the Michelin starred experience I had!!! 😘🧑‍🍳

My Dad and I were on the hunt for spots in or close to Union City to fulfill our dim sum cravings. This was the closest spot to us with positive feedback. The restaurant is a little hard to see from the street, but after circling around a bit, we made it alive and well!

The restaurant was packed. Fortunately we got seated pretty quickly. I actually would give Tins Teapot Bistro 4 stars, but because of their discriminatory service they lost a star and respect.

The server was super nice and welcoming when taking our order. Until she saw me using sign language with my Deaf dad. Her face and body language changed entirely. In Chinese culture, the Deaf are looked down upon and severely oppressed. And since this happened to my family, I was able to immediately recognize the signs. She immediately became cold, rude and not welcoming with us. And while we should have just walked out at this point, we didn't let it ruin our meal. But this is not something anyone should have to deal with, especially in the states. We aren't in China. And The Bay Area has a large Deaf community.

We ordered A LOT of food.

Steamed Beef Balls Steamed Shrimp Dumplings Sticky Rice & Chicken in Lotus Leaf Pea Sprouts & Shrimp Dumplings Pan Fried Shrimp & Chive Dumplings Rice Noodle Roll w/ Beef & Cilantro Chinese Broccoil with Oyster Sauce Steamed Beef Tripe Steamed Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce Sesame Balls Chiu Chau Dumplings Shrimp Stuffed Eggplant

All the dumplings were good, but they were oversteamed. As a result, the dumpling skin was sticking to the steamers and so it made it really hard to eat. But they were tasty. I'm not anti-MSG but if I eat too much, I do get headaches. And I could tell they don't put too much in their food, so that was good.

Prices are a little high. There is definitely better dim sum in the Bay Area that is more reasonably priced.

Parking is easy and plentiful.

Good but not worth the...

Buh bye New West Lake.... Hellooooo Tins Teapot Bistro.

We came to Tins Teapot Bistro for dinner, we walked in and was greeted by Alice very nice lady.

We ordered:

Broccoli Beef (American Style) 5/5 Broccoli Beef (Chinese Style) 4/5 Lemon Chicken 4/5 Chicken Fried Rice 5/5 Shrimp Fried Rice 5/5 Baked Pork Buns (Dim Sum Size) 5/5

Broccoli beef(American Style), fresh broccoli was not over nor under cooked it was perfect, the beef was nice and tender, the beef broth did not over powered the broccoli beef. Oh yea beware of hidden ginger bombs that look like chopped onions. hehe

Broccoli beef(Chinese Style), the (CS) broccoli beef was good, the Kai-lan aka (Chinese Broccoli) could have been cooked a little longer.

Lemon chicken, had a good lemon taste, chicken should be more moist. Lemon chicken that Actually taste like Lemon chicken yum.

Chicken fried rice, lightly season, was not over cooked.

Shrimp fried rice, lightly season, rice was not over cooked, Shrimp was not rubbery, had great texture.

Baked Pork Buns, I like these dim sum size bake pork buns, better then the ones in Chinatown in Oakland.

I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants cantonese cuisine quality food AND...

Me and my friend went to the TTB on Thursday, December 29 evening while still raining cats and dogs. I love the restaurant very much. The lighting inside is very good. I can read the menu and see the food on the plate very well since I am visually impaired. The waitress is very very professional. She understand my Mandarin when I say thank you. The waitress offer me a fork instead of the chop stick. I said I will use both of them in case I get tired of the chop stick and the waitress that a good ideal. The food is very yummy Fried rice is excellent. the dumpling are great. The waitress notice our table was full and offer us to take the food we did not finish eating. I said I like to put the food in the box. She takes the food and packed up the food and hold onto the food for us until it was time for us to go. The rest of the food I wanted to take home she packed up the food very nice! The waitress made sure we are satisficed without dinner. Over the service, food and location is great. I will be a repeat. Thank you for all your...
