I was plopped in Hayward for one reason and stayed for a week for another reason. This burger joint was always catching my eye each time I passed by. I don't know if it was the huge sign advertising for 1/4 burger or how it reminded me of a closed business called "The Campus" in Greenfield, CA, but I knew I had to eat here.
I was hungry one evening, broke A.F., but decided to spend what money I had left saved here... and I was completely taken aback. The burger was so juicy and freshly made on the spot. You could taste the fresh salt and pepper, and the burger was cooked to perfection. The only thing it was missing at the time was lettuce, on account that they had run out of. I assume that means they also use fresh, locally sourced vegetables for their burgers, which is awesome!
Not only did I enjoy their wonderfully juicy, cooked burger, I ordered their French Fries and an Oreo shake to top it all off. The French Fries, OMG! The French Fries were deep-fried perfectly! They had a nice exterior crispness with a light, fluffy interior. Not only were they perfectly deep-fried, but they had just the right amount of salt on top. You know how McDonald's or Burger King throw an excessive amount of salt on their fries? Yeah, no, these people did the fries just right. You got the taste of the seasoning of the salt, but you get more of the taste of the full body of the potatoe. I was just so sad I couldn't finish every last fry because I was not willing to bloat myself when I've been working hard to shrink my food intake. 😭😂
As for the milkshake, if they did the burger and French Fries right, they made sure the milkshake was done right too. I had an Oreo Shake, which was nicely thick and full of flavor. I could taste the vanilla ice cream separately from the oreo cookie bits. I could taste the freshness of the oreo cookie. I could even taste the milk used for the oreo shake. You'd think it would be just an ordinary milk shake that you could get at a Jack-In-The-Box, Burger King, Denny's, or other, but their milk shake was far superior and made me want seconds.
I'm a little of the theatrics with my reviews, but I feel praise is due when it makes itself known. Also, I'm not sure if it's specifically just women operated, but there were no men in sight. So, it's possibly women owned and operated, which is pretty Bitchin'! I...
Read moreOh boy, let me tell you about the cheesiest, juiciest, most delicious burger joint in town! I stumbled upon this place on a rainy day, and boy was I glad I did. As soon as I walked in, I was hit with the smell of sizzling beef and melted cheese that made my stomach grumble with anticipation.
The menu was a work of art, with more burger options than I could count. From classic cheeseburgers to spicy jalapeno burgers.
I ordered the "Quarter Pounder," which was the perfect name for this behemoth of a burger. It was stacked high with two juicy beef patties, oozing with melted cheese, topped with crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a secret sauce that was so good, I wanted to lick the plate clean. The bun was soft and fluffy, and held up surprisingly well to the mountain of toppings.
As I took my first bite, I was transported to burger heaven. The flavors exploded in my mouth like a party, and I couldn't help but let out a happy little groan. It was so good, I didn't want it to end.
To top it all off, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was cozy and welcoming. It was like being at a friend's backyard barbecue, except without the awkward small talk.
If you're in the mood for a burger that will make you forget all your problems, this place is a must-try. Just make sure you bring some napkins, because you're...
Read moreHoly cow! Don't take the name lightly. These burgers are GIANT! Best bang for your buck if you're looking for a killer diner style burger. I have been meaning to try this spot for a minute now, and I was not disappointed. I mistakenly ordered a bacon double cheeseburger, not realizing that their average patty is a 1/4 pound patty. This burger was huge, and I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice! I love when burger places overfill your fries to the point they are all over the bag 🍻 The cashier was very nice and efficient at taking my order. This is a grab and go kinda place. There are two small windows where you can order and pick up your food. Food came out fairly quickly. There was only one other person there at the time, and they had just received their food. The bacon was a nice thick cut and cooked perfectly. The cheese was so gooey and melted to perfection. It kept me coming back bite after bite. Good quality patties that were well seasoned, and the perfect meat to veggie ratio 👌 😋 As far as price goes this beast of a burger and a big bag of fries came out to $18. Around here, that's a good price, and next time, I'll go with a...
