Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hayward — Hotel in Hayward

I went down with a group of people for a Raiders game, checked in no problem. We were excited with the location, walking distance to the BART all the areas we could go. First night, room muggy and smelled weird. Toilet plugging up, called front desk, he said he could get someone in first thing in morning-not acceptable, but wrote it off as ok, its not a 4 star place, we can deal with it for now. I woke up at 3am itching like crazy on certain parts of my body, turned the light on, seen a bug. I have never seen a bed bug, I had bites all over my body. It was very gross and I will be forever traumatized for the rest of my life(not joking). Called the front desk at 3am, he said tomorrow he would get us in a new room. Next day, moved us, checked the room, more bugs in that room. After 3 failed attempts for a room that didn't have bugs, I went to front desk to check out. He gave me a hard time about a refund for the first night, why pay for a non-working toilet and bugs in my bed. I didn't sleep at all the first night! I got my refund and spent the whole day trying to find another place to stay because there was a game it was very hard. I will never stay at any Days Inn every again! I felt really bad at first for the front desk man, he did try to help me out, the only time he was rude was when I wanted my money for the first night. This ordeal ruined my plans for my first day in Cali. Warning to all, do not stay here. Pay the extra $$ to stay somewhere else. I picked up the reservation and game tickets from a friend who got left last minute with the package, other wise I could have ended up somewhere else. A hard lesson learned. My poor friend found bugs in her room and she too left and had a hard time finding another place to stay. I have sensitive skin and my bites were swollen and bright red, it was very embarrassing to walk around during my trip stay and even a week after I got home. I looked like I was shooting up on one of my arms because I had a cluster of bites....

When we tried to check in the attendant in front said we had to pay a $100 dollar deposit that had to be in cash or else we could not check in. He even had a print out he quickly pulled out to point at the required cash deposit. Came back later that night with the cash in hand only to have a patron in front of us request to not have to leave the mandatory deposit the and was still allowed to secure his room. Also, we were given a key that did not work. I went back to the office several times to they could give us a working key. After about three tries the attendant came with me to verify the key was not working. He used the manager's key to open the door. He said he would return with a working key but never did.The room had exposed wiring at the light switch by the door, the smoke detector was hanging from the sealing by the wires. There were dead bugs on the bed. The bathroom was discussing, not cleaned prior to us using the room. There was also a funky smell in the room. We contacted the front office at one in the morning to let them know the room above us was making a lot of noise. They said they would get to it but the patrons of the room above us were still playing music, jumping around and making noise when we checked out at 11.The whole experience and the unreasonable deposit that only applies to some made it worst. We left this place itchy and unable to take showers due to the state of the shower tub. Do not waste your time or money on this place. If we had an option at such a late time we would have went...
