I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident that occurred at the McDonald's location in Hazel Park on [july 22]. This incident involves an employee who not only displayed a severe lack of awareness and understanding of disability rights but also engaged in discriminatory behavior towards myself and my registered service animal. I hope to bring this matter to your immediate attention, as it is a serious civil rights issue that must be addressed promptly and appropriately.
On the aforementioned date, I visited the McDonald's restaurant in Hazel Park, accompanied by my fully trained and registered service animal, which is essential to my daily activities due to my disability. Upon entering the premises, I was immediately confronted by an employee (who appeared to be a manager due to his different colored T-shirt) who aggressively and publicly asserted that I could not have my service animal inside the facility.
In front of other customers, this employee proceeded to loudly and rudely demand that I leave the premises with my service animal, claiming that disabled individuals were not welcome in the establishment. Despite my efforts to explain that my service animal is allowed by law to accompany me, he continued to berate and humiliate me, causing a highly distressing and uncomfortable experience for both me and other patrons.
As I attempted to provide the necessary documentation to prove the legitimacy of my service animal, the employee in question simply dismissed my evidence and made an excuse of not having seen my service animal earlier, which only further adds to my belief that this was a clear case of discrimination.
The situation escalated into a heated altercation, causing further distress and embarrassment. As a result of his refusal to serve me, the employee refunded my money and deprived me of the opportunity to purchase my coffee and pancakes that I had intended to enjoy. This not only deprived me of a simple meal but also infringed upon my right to access public spaces with my service animal, which is protected by law.
I firmly believe that disability discrimination is an intolerable offense and goes against the principles of inclusion and equality. As a reputable corporation, McDonald's must ensure that all its employees are adequately trained to accommodate individuals with disabilities and to treat them with respect and dignity.
I am urging you to take immediate action in response to this incident. I request that the employee involved be removed from his position and that appropriate disciplinary measures be taken. Additionally, I strongly advise McDonald's to implement comprehensive disability awareness training for all employees at this location to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
Furthermore, I sincerely hope that McDonald's takes this matter seriously and undertakes necessary steps to ensure that all its branches strictly adhere to the guidelines regarding service animals and the rights of disabled individuals.
I am looking forward to receiving your response within a reasonable time frame, detailing the actions you intend to take to address this issue. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly...

I said, I wanted 3 Creams, and 3 sugars with my Coffee. The Lady said, Chocolate, or Caramel Syrup. I said, oh, Caramel, please. I reminder the lady that I still wanted my three creams and three sugars. She said you don't actually need three sugars with this coffee it's quite sweet. I said I'll take them anyway I'll just take them on the side. I got to the window to pick up my food after paying at the first window... I was given my coffee and my bag of food. I drove two blocks down and pulled over to eat. One other thing to mention-it was freezing outside. One of those winter days in Michigan when it decided to snow and we had Sub-Zero temperatures. It was just that blustery type snow that really barely even sticks and then melts when the sun comes out later. Well I got my sandwich out my hash brown out so I could take the bun off and put the hash brown on my McMuffin to eat it all together. I opened up my bag of food and noticed that my egg McMuffin sausage McMuffin wasn't hot, and my hash brown cake really wasn't hot. Disappointed. Next thing I took a sip of my coffee not creamy and definitely not sweet at all! So I looked in the bottom of the bag for my three sugars and three creamers on the side and they weren't in the bag! Well while I was struggling to choke down this McMuffin and drink this god-awful Coffee iced coffee I said to myself what did McDonald's do to their sausage patty? Does sandwich have no flavor! I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at the width of the sausage patty! it was 2 * thinner than what it used to be actually three times because it would take three of the skinny 116 of an inch patties that I got to equal the old sausage patty. So, so disappointed. If I hadn't been on my way for an appointment believe me you I would have gone down the two blocks and started over again! Handing my bag of food and my coffee drink back to the lady at the first window who if I'm not mistaken does the one who took my order, and I would have let her know that I need three creamers three sugars caramel in my coffee and a hot hash brown and a hot sausage McMuffin...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever had and that's not an exaggeration. So...guy taking orders didn't say anything at the drive thru, then when I spoke told me to hang on...ok that's fine...pull up to the window to pay and again he said nothing. Didn't look out the window. Didn't open the window. Kept pressing buttons on his computer. So after a more than reasonable amount of time waiting for him to open the window so I could pay I left and went to the pickup window. Again played the waiting game but to an empty window. Lady comes to the window and I explain the man didn't say anything, never opened the window and didn't even look out of the window. She apologized, took my money and left. Ok...waited so long I contemplated driving off wondering what they were doing to my food. She ended up coming back and told me the guy at the first window can't multitask...CAN'T MULTITASK AT A FAST FOOD JOINT. I politely explained that since he can't multitask then maybe he shouldn't be working at a job where he has to deal with the public. I told her to have a good evening and drove away. Absolutely ridiculous excuse for being slow and rude. The food was a whole other nasty bit but by now I think you get the picture to steer clear of this location. These losers want 15 bucks an hour for working in this fashion??? If they were polite and never forgot your food then they'd deserve it but not for this...
