Hey Burger NJ — Restaurant in Hazlet Township

This was first time trying Hey Burger. I ordered through the slice app. The problem I had the food came cold and had to reheat in my air fryer. After reheating the food tasted pretty good but to me not the same if it was hot. I don’t blame the restaurant and will try again but stop in or pick up myself. The delivery person which is a third party and you can track showed they left and seemed to go all over. I live about 5 to 10 minutes tops away from restaurant. From the time the delivery person left to they got to my home was about 40 minutes. I asked the delivery person you get lost , oh know we went out then got there was another order then went back then went to other place then yours and we should of came to your place. You think ? I didn’t know it was cold until after they left and started opening up the food and I already left tip. Which sucks. Luckily I chatted with slice and told them what had happened and said it wasn’t restaurant’s fault it was delivery so they reimbursed me some of the money cause the food was cold. It really sucks cause I read all the good reviews and wanted to try it. Now I know better. Any other time I ordered on slice the restaurants delivered the food with their own drivers and I never had problem. First time I get a third party delivery for a restaurant off slice and have an issue with food being cold. I def will eventually try Hey Burger again in future but I rather stop by and sit in restaurant and order food and enjoy hot food and have a cold beer instead of ordering where this third party delivery, delivers...

Today my girlfriend and I stopped by the area to visit the beach. Being super hungry afterwards we googled “nearby restaurants” We saw “Hey Burger” with its fantastic reviews and they did not disappoint !

First we ordered the mango habanero wings (which we were at first iffy about since the main reviews were burgers) But MAN! So so good. Cooked so well. Crispy skin, moist interior, tasty sauce.

We also got the #1 smash burger which was fantastic. Def blows shake shack out of the water. And who doesn’t like shake shack. The home made potato chips and onion rings were just as good as the entree.

We had drinks and dinner served by Tricia who was super sweet and accommodating. Def a hidden gem in the area! I’ll def be returning EVERY TIME I’m in the area.

It's inside a very nice little locals bar, but definitely welcoming to everyone. Staff and patrons are very nice. They have a small selection of beer but good choices, seemed to have decent liquor selection as well. They also have a little section to purchase for home. We got a couple voodoo rangers, which is our regular anyway, so it was nice to see it on tap. We ordered the salt n vinegar fries and they were 🔥🔥🔥 can't wait to go back and try other stuff. The whole menu sounded delicious and the glorious aromas from the kitchen was tempting us to order. We live just up the road and would pass this place all the time, and I'm glad we stopped in. Looking forward to trying the other options...
