So most of the time, people are fairly good about service dogs. I have a thoroughly professional dog- perfect heel, ignores people, does her job. She’s amazing. She cannot wear a leash due to her task.
I walked in to this beautiful restaurant, had a lovely conversation with the first woman to try and sit us down. She was very kind and said my dog was cute. Then she went in the back and had a discussion with another woman.
This one came out, already glaring, to inform me that she cannot sit dogs in the restaurant. I informed her that Ethel is a service dog. She said it didn’t matter in a spectacularly rude fashion. She also spent a long time trying to convince me that I needed to show her Ethel’s paperwork, which is flatly untrue. When I asked her if she’d like me to get the ADA in contact with her, she informed me that I’d come into the restaurant looking for trouble. I remained polite and told her that I was not looking for trouble, but respect.
She said she had to call the owner, and when they did not respond, she came back, irritated, and asked what Ethel’s job was. I told her Repetitive Behavior Prevention, the professional name for what she does. She looked confused and informed me that she did not know what that was. Though it’s not required, I told her what that meant, and she finally conceded to sit us upstairs. The rest of the staff has been wonderful.
HOWEVER- in the interest of other folks out there with service dogs- this was actually the MOST unpleasant interaction I have EVER had with a staff member ANYWHERE about my service animal. My brother started filming when the woman walked away; I wish I’d thought to pull a camera out earlier. I was genuinely shocked.
If you have a disability, I would honestly recommend skipping the decent food. It’s not worth the stress.
She did apologize, after. By saying she was old school and not used to the new rules. While looking like her boss had had a few words with her. Also, we paid full price. Which is frankly outrageous. Seventy five dollars to be informed I’m a bad person and looking for trouble for needing a service dog.

Read moreThe expansive menu with all the cute names drew us in. I mean, how can you resist sandwiches with names like: Rastafarian, or Flankenstein, or Fun Guy? Once we got in to the place and were seated in the bar area, we saw that this kind of humor maintained itself in the wall decorations. We were seated directly below the largest cast iron pan I have ever seen. There were also copper pots with matching lids mounted on the wall. I wanted to take some of them home with me!
For our first visit we decided to try different things so we tried one burger, one salad, one pizza, and one pasta dish. We also tried their Torts with the Mango Salsa as an appetizer. Torts - as the menu explains - are fried tortilla chips dusted with a spice mix. They come as a side for many of the sandwiches. We really liked them as they were not greasy and the spice mix was interested and not too salty! The salsa was somewhat disappointing as it was mostly corn based and sweet - we did not detect much mango.
On the other hand the Chicken Marsala, the Beet Salad, the Mushroom Pizza, and the Burger were excellent. All kinds of wonderful flavors in each of them. If there was a miss in any of that collection it was on the pizza which had a small mound of pickled red onion in the center - not necessary and a bit distracting.
Portions are large - you are getting your money's worth. We ended up with leftovers for more than one additional meal. The server was excellent: explaining things and answering questions and taking care of multiple tables while not leaving any of us feeling neglected. She was also very personable and we traded stories of places we've lived at and foods we wanted to try! Oh, and speaking of large portions, the burgers are half a pound of meat, and then they add generous toppings. Come with a large appetite if you want to tackle one of those.
With such a large and diverse menu we will definitely have to come back to experience more of...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived, the service was great. Despite the restaurant being busy, we were seated quickly on the patio, which was a lovely choice. The cleanliness of the restaurant was evident, and it contributed to a welcoming atmosphere.
The patio was well-equipped with a fan to keep us cool and umbrellas for shade, making it a comfortable place to enjoy our meal. I also noticed they had heat lamps available for chilly nights.
The full bar offered a great selection. I opted for the steak salad, which was delightful. The dressings were particularly noteworthy--rich in flavor and perfectly balanced it was the creamy parm. We also decided to share a buffalo chicken pizza, and it was absolutely awesome! My husband ordered a burger with chips, and I must say, their chips are downright addictive.
Overall, our experience was great, and I would return 100% for another enjoyable meal. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely...
