What can I say? This review is based on only one trip to Shellie’s in the restaurant location that used to be Perkins. Haven’t tried any of their dishes except the jalapeño poppers that I bought when I was there this last time. So take it with a grain of salt if you’d like, but this is what I observed.
First of all, we liked Perkins. Not everything there was super, but some things were very good, and the prices were reasonable. I could take my family of 5 there and eat for around $42 or so, and that’s with 3 kids meals and two adults meals. As this change to Shellie’s approached we were worried that we would lose our favorite restaurant, but we were hopeful that Shellie’s would be a change for the better. We were disappointed.
1st of all, the prices are WAY more, at least 30% higher or more on most things. When we went there, we had all eaten recently, so it was just for dessert. Let’s see, I got jalapeño poppers, ($9.50)!!! And my wife got onion rings ($9.95)!!! And one chicken nuggets kids meal, one milkshake, and one slice of chocolate cream Oreo pie, and 2 coffees. NOT a large meal, simply dessert and a snack. $48! I can imagine what the cost would have been had we all had meals.
So much for our nice affordable Perkins. I forget to mention that my jalapeño poppers had NO SPICE at all, and were barely edible, the SIX of them for $9.50.
I do have to admit that the chocolate cream pie was far superior to Perkins chocolate cream, so that’s good, but they will be seeing much less of us and our business than Perkins did. I will eventually try some more things there, and review those, but for now these are the feelings of my family. Bye Bye Perkins, we miss...

I always recommended to my customers to come here for breakfast. I've been coming here since they opened ordering the loader up omelet. This morning I came in at 5am looking forward to my breakfast. The place was dead. Nobody in just me. Another guy came in after me. We both ordered at the same time. The waitress ask the guy behind me if he didn't mind if his bacon was crispy. I thought the customer was too ask for crispy? Why didn't the cook just make it the way it's suppose to be? I heard the cook in the back joking and talking up a storm instead of concentrating on cooking. Well, I got my platter, there omelet was great but, the hash browns were soaked with oil and thin. Actually you could of used the hash browns as a hockey puck. Cooked crispy throughout and unable to eat it. It was obvious he smashed it over and over and it was cooked for along time. I asked the waitress to ask the cook if he would eat it. I'm sure she ignored it. I'm just going to start going to Steve's Cafe and start recommending Steve's in my business instead.
Not only all this, the waitress always parks in the handicap parking in front, always. No placard it license plate endorsement.
I'm a disabled veteran and always have to park in another spot farthest from the door. What allows her to be...
Read moreMichelle m m (how it's written on the receipt) is the rudest server I have ever had. Literally made me cry. I came here after an already long and stressful day and drive. I ordered dessert first and then my meal. I even told her.. It's a dessert first kind of day. Was asking about what cookies they had to order with my daughters (18months) kids meal and then turned to my wife to ask which one we wanted to get her and the lady walked away mid sentence to take the next tables order and then the next. When she came back by I flagged her down to let her know we weren't done ordering and that I would like the m&m cookie for my daughters meal and then went to point to my son who hadn't ordered his pie yet either and she cut me off and said "well that's dessert and a ways down the night and I just took all of these other orders (as she pointed to the other tables)" and WALKED away. 1st. I was still ordering when you walked away from our table to take the other orders (mid sentence ordering). 2. I said we wanted dessert first. 3. I don't care what orders you just took or what item it is... you don't snap at a customer. 4. We asked for a manager 2x and never saw one. Literally made me cry. I'm glad my daughter was on my lap yo hide my tears. So embarrassing and it was extremely disrespectful. As much as the food is amazing... I will...
