My experience on the evening of June 22, 2022: The greeter was exceptionally rude - he barely glanced at us and treated us like we were invisible, or numbers. I was taken aback and almost walked right back out. We were really hungry, though, so we didn't. The table had paper covering the tablecloth, under which was a filthy, stained cloth. They use plastic "glasses" and disposable chopsticks, which is inappropriate in a restaurant this pricey, it should be real glass as well as real chopsticks. The food itself was very bland, worst fried rice I've had in years. We ordered filet mignon and lobster. The "filet" looked and tasted like a cheap burger shop steak, I was extremely disappointed and surprised. The lobster came to me already cut into pieces, so there was no way to know if it was lobster and not the cheaper langostino seafood. The flavor was good on it, at least. Our waiter was very nice and helpful, he was the reason this review isn't 1 star. I asked him for a couple of extra things and he was happy to help me with them. The greeter was not only rude to us, I watched him do the same thing to everyone else he seated. He also knocked over a container on a table nearby that was apparently a doordash order, he disgustingly scraped the food back into the small styrofoam container and closed it back up, as if nothing happened, throwing the extra food in the trash, shorting the customer that ordered it! Whoever owns this place needs to fire that guy. I don't recommend coming here.

It’s a decent spot for Japanese food. It’s quite expensive for an average quality of food, even though they advertised it as “finest and freshest ingredients”, this is plainly not true because the fish were frozen (still tasted frozen in sashimi and nigiris), knowing that’s it’s impossible to get fresh fish such as tuna or oysters around here. A platter of oysters were $10 for four tiny pieces. We also got a chicken teriyaki that came out over cooked and dried, which was very disappointing. Despite this, I understand that it’s not easy to get fresh ingredients here so I still enjoyed my time at Nagoya because I acknowledged that there’s not many Asian restaurants around here. The servers were super friendly and accommodating, but I think the hostess needs to check her attitude because we did not feel welcomed when we entered the restaurant. She didn’t even look at us and immediately said “follow me” without “please or thank you”... and no smiles! Of course I didn’t come here for service, but it would be nice to have a good atmosphere for the dining experience.

I have been here twice and they have always been wonderful! Food and service has been awesome. The hibachi is a fun experience, but is usually full unless you go on weekdays. Decent prices. Not a fan of sushi so I cant speak on that. During our last visit, the server missed our appetizer before hibachi started but gave it to us for free along with extra food. I got the lobster and new york strip. Boyfriend got filet. Very yummy although lobster could use some seasoning. I could definitely tell the lobster was frozen but its Montana so you cant expect much. Really wish they had egg drop soup! The miso is yummy along with the salad. Wish they had more flavors of mochi since it's usually only green tea and mango when we go there. However, we will be back!

Customer Beware...We have been going to Nagoya since it came to Helena. We enjoy the sushi rolls and hibachi. The food has always been good. However, the service has become unbearable. Tonight our family went there for dinner. It was a little before 5pm so they weren't busy yet. We ordered sushi, rolls and our child ordered hibachi. We received our sushi and rolls, we were told his hibachi would be right out. We all shared our food with our child while he waited. It was almost another half hour before the hibachi came out... Everyone was done eating by the time his food came. We asked for compensation for his meal arriving after everyone was done. They offered to pay for a dessert. Again, I asked for the meal to be comped amd that we didnt want any additional food. They came back with taking off only $2.75... My husband had to get up and talk to the manager and ask him how he would feel if his whole family ate and then your dinner came. We finally got his meal comped. With every junior hibachi, it comes with ice cream. They brought us the check and didn't even offer the ice cream. I didn't ask either, I was so furious with how poorly the service and management has become.

Update 9/22/24 Tried to give them another chance. We were passed up for a table by a group of 7 people who walked in without a reservation. I asked them if we had been forgotten and they pulled together a couple table to accommodate the 5 of us. Waiter took our drink order and brought drinks. A different waitress came over and asked us again for our drink order. We told her, we have our drinks but need to put in our food order. She took our food order. We sat for a good 20 mins before anyone brought soup or salads. Then argued with us that my husband didn't get a soup and salad with his sushi deluxe. Then we complained about how bad this service has been. There shouldn't be an argument about the fact that we ordered a soup and salad that wasn't brought out. Magically, everything turned around. Food came flying out and Waiter was apologetic. Appetizers were cold. The rest of the food was good but it's not worth the poor...

I really wanted to like this place. The server was pretty rude and obviously disinterested in being there. Someone at our grill asked for something from the menu and she said "the pictures on the menu don't even look like anything we have." We ordered some sushi and sat at a grill, it was my wife and I. We got to sit next to a group with 2 very small children and 2 children in the 10's or so. So, read into that as do not expect an adult setting, expect to be surrounded by children like Chuck-e-cheese. The food was not good. I give the sushi roll a 3 out of 10. I had the King roll, which was supposed to be king crab and they used fake crab on the inside of the roll. My wife ordered the "hibachi grill" and we did an "upcharge" so I could split it with her and have the fried veges and rice. We got a small salad, and I had the largest hair in my salad I have ever seen in my life. I almost threw up when I saw it and I pushed my salad aside. I then had to examine everything to make sure I wasn't eating someone's hair in my meal. The soup was very bland and had an odd taste, neither my wife and I had any of it after we tasted it. We waited for our hibachi chef for about 45 minutes, which is way too long for 4 kids sitting next to you to be sitting around with no food. The table that sat behind us 15 minutes after we sat down ate before we did? By the time we finally ate, I have to say the hibachi food was decent, but it was odd the portions that were given out. The infant children at the table (2 of them) were given a larger portion than I was? nothing at this place made any sense and we almost walked out about 6 different times. I was hoping the drink would be decent (had a 17 dollar cuervo magarita) and I don't think there was any tequilla in it. I will say the salmon fly rye from the tap was the highlight of evening. Save your money and go...
