Lu Taqueria LLC — Restaurant in Hellertown

I tried the Hellertown location today as I am always in search of a decent carnitas taco. We had the chicken and carnitas tacos, chips and guacamole and the coconut flan. My overview is that this is a great little taqueria. The beer braised carnitas was very good and it is by far better than nearly every place I have tried in the past few years. My wife said the chicken taco was "good" but she would prefer it also have lettuce and tomato on it, but they are serving street taco style and that would be atypical. The flan was very smooth and tasted of coconut. The small negatives were that the chips were a little too salty, but offset by the very tasty guac that they make in the store. I would also have appreciated two tortillas rather than the single used in the shop as this gives additional support to the taco. All drinks are canned or bottled as they do not have a drink fountain and the seating is limited to chairs against a window bench. So, you can eat there, but it appears they are more geared to a take out business. All of this is mentioned to set your expectation levels correctly before you go. Todays June 30th, 2025 I ordered the "Lu burrito" with birria meat an it was juicy and full of flavor. Definitely a heavy burrito so if you get it make sure you have an appetite. The fresh juices there Definitely will have me coming for more if not the food cause the "Tropical Radiance" drink is phenomenal, Literally taste like im drinking a vacation on the beach.

Stopped in for take out and we were very pleasantly surprised. The carnitas and birria tacos were delicious. We will definitely be back to try some other items.
