Although the food was ok, my biggest complaint is the fact that they are not kid friendly. They repeatedly expressed this after I asked for a high chair and then a kids menu option. I’ve never in my life been to a restaurant that didn’t have a high chair and kids option if they are not 21+ establishments. For such a small place in a small town they should broaden their horizon, considering the experience would have be a lot better if everyone was welcome. It’s very rude for parents who want to enjoy a dinner to be told their child basically is not welcomed. But the server was so kind and did what she could to accommodate us and I appreciate that. I wish the owners were more aware of their business. But to each their own, just very disappointing. I get people choose how to run a business but in this world today you should be more accommodating to children. Food was good but nothing to brag about at home , but I enjoyed a few things that was on the table. Dessert was minimal, they didn’t really have many options. And all the food options were very intricate flavors put together, so this restaurant is definitely not meant for those who eat simple Mexican. They don’t have rice or tacos either so I’m really not sure the vibe, maybe boujee Mexican? Cool concept but deff could be executed better. Yes I seen the menu beforehand but I expected more or special. To add it was VERY expensive. But overall they should be more friendly towards all ages, I’m not sure how this place is rated so high for...
Read moreLiked the food, atmosphere, service and drinks. It is pricey though. We had two cocktails, one app, two entres and one desert and the bill with tip was 170. Entres were 38 each and didn’t have any sides. My wife’s branzino was just the fish and toppings, my short rib said brussel sprouts but it was basically a small scoop of shaved raw brussel sprouts kind of looking like a scoop of coleslaw. The entres should have had a cooked vegetable and starch for that price and it would have given the meal alittle more flavor and texture as opposed to just eating all fish every bite or all short rib. It’s not tapas it’s Mexican so where is the rice and beans or sides?
Something exceptional were the drinks and I don’t usually get them out anymore because I mix good and strong home. One negative was my wife had a virgin drink and they charge the same price for it. What a Shame. And also there is a surcharge if you are using credit card. The noise level was very high and there is only one bathroom so you will wait if you have to go. Overall we enjoyed celebrating our anniversary and had a very nice time BUT the food is over priced. Next time I will probably only go for drinks and some apps because of the entre price and lack of sides...
Read moreFour weeks into opening and they are killing it. The La Maya staff is amazing, the ambiance was so on point. I love places that you can have a fantastic meal and still speak with your dinner guests or those around you without yelling over the crowd or the music. This is the place to go if you want to experience delicious Mexican food that will have you really tasting all the delicious ingredients.
The food is all prepped the day of, meaning it’s fresh and flavorful. Traditional guacamole, corn ‘ribs’ and chicken tortilla soup were really great options to eat a litter lighter. The drinks were SO good, non-alcoholic or not they really embody the vibes across a lot of drinks. From traditional margs to house specials served up in terra cotta type glasses this place slaps. Not too much vegan here but definitely can do gluten free and vegetarian.
Plan a nice evening out (opens at 4), make reservations or grab a seat at the gorgeous bar (with awesome supportive cushy stools). Either way you’re...
