Coffee Religion Review: A Mixed Experience

I recently visited Coffee Religion on Horizon Parkway in Henderson with my daughter, and came away with mixed feelings about this local coffee spot.

Atmosphere & Service Coffee Religion presents itself well at first glance. The café features calm, pleasing decor and maintains a very clean environment throughout. The staff provided kind service during our visit, creating a welcoming initial impression.

Coffee We ordered cappuccinos which were great but no design on top of the coffee like the advertisements. Not particularly memorable. The coffee quality was decent, but didn't stand out enough to warrant a special trip back.

Food Experience Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. I ordered the avocado toast topped with sliced hard boiled eggs and tomato, which was mediocre at best. The egg was served ice cold, as was the tomato, which significantly detracted from the dish. The overall flavor profile was just okay, compared to other more memorable coffee shops in the area.

My daughter tried the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" option, which she also found to be merely adequate. Neither dish impressed us enough to justify another visit.

Pastries The one bright spot in our culinary experience came from the pastries we purchased to go. These were genuinely good and showed more care in preparation than our main dishes.

Silverware: another downside is they offer a plastic fork but an actual knife as cutlery. Napkins is as thin as one ply toilet paper. Disappointing.

Value & Final Thoughts While Coffee Religion offers a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, the food quality doesn't match the café's appealing aesthetic. For a coffee shop that seems to position itself as a premium option in Henderson, the mediocre execution of basic breakfast items was disappointing.

Based on our experience, particularly with the food quality, this will likely remain a one-time visit for us. There are simply too many other coffee shops in the Henderson area that offer both great atmosphere and consistently good food to warrant a return trip.

Excellent little coffee joint kinda tucked away but a must try for coffee/tea/pastry lovers. Drove by here a few times and wanted to try because the name sounds cool. Wish I had tried them the sooner. Super good spot for coffee, tea, and treats. Prices are better than some other spots (looking at you Urth).

Cool atmosphere, good natural light, classy decor that is fun (Iroh poster and Godzilla t-shirts), cool mix of younger and older peeps. People working and groups of friends hanging. Easy vibe.

Drinks are delish. Had the Copacabana tea (mango and lychee) and iced lavender honey coffee (seasonal). Both great, sweet but not too sweet. Godzilla latte is the best.

Had three pastries - almond croissant, blueberry scone, blueberry muffin. All made in house except muffins. They warm everything up in a little oven thing and they default to warming up so if you want it room temp let them know first.

All the pastries were really good, especially the scone and croissant. You can tell they aren’t store bought. The scone comes with clotted cream (English style creamy butter deal) and strawberry spread. Croissant was a tad crispy but still very good. The almond spread inside balanced the crispy top. Muffin had a tasty blueberry filling.

Had the Ja Burrito. Super good. Has hash browns inside and avocado and bacon. The sign on the wall doesn’t list bacon so be aware if you don’t eat pork or meat. And the sauce inside is great. Gotta try it.

I really wanted to like this place, but it was such a disappointing experience for me and my sister. We spent about $40, and honestly it just wasn’t worth it. When we walked in, the vibe was immediately off..no music, no energy, and barely anyone inside. I was excited to try their pastries, but they only had about three options out, and they looked old. There was only one worker running the entire shop. She was very kind, and I genuinely empathize with her for having to handle everything alone, but it definitely affected the service. My sister and I ordered an egg sandwich, a toast, and two drinks. A lady came in after us and ordered as well. The worker decided to make all the drinks at once, including the new customer’s, so it took 20 minutes before we even got our drinks. Still no food. After that, my sandwich came out about 10 minutes later. And then my sister’s toast didn’t arrive until another 10–15 minutes after mine because the worker was also making toasts for other guests who had been waiting even longer than us I guess. So by the time my sister got her food, I was already finished with mine. The food itself was just okay. The matcha was watery, the coffee wasn’t great, and the overall experience killed the “sister brunch date” vibes we were hoping for. Again, no hate toward the worker because she was clearly doing her best but it really makes you wonder why open another location if this is the kind of experience you’re going to offer. Definitely not worth the money...
