This restaurant really fell short of our expectations. We drove into town from Summerlin to Henderson with our family and we were really impressed.
The place is very nice and everything looks very clean and of very high quality but it really wasn't just my opinion but that of the seven members of the family who were with me
Normally I don't waste so much time and details writing a negative comment but this time more important than writing something negative I think it would be something very positive for the owner or for the owners to know what other people think about this restaurant
It may not be important to some, but there may also be other people who identify with the same criteria and disappointment that we had.
First we had to wait because there was only one cashier and she was taking some orders to pick up in line and she was also taking care of the kitchen and the only waitress and some people who were already waiting in line as well
Second, when we got to her, my whole family speaks Spanish and the girl didn't speak Spanish, only English in a restaurant that supposedly is Cubanโฆ so I didn't quite understand where our roots were.
In my case and the others in the group we just wanted tamales more than anything and the girl said that they had not sold tamales for days but the menu was not updated nor did it say anything online regarding tamales or anything like that
My sister wanted a chicken soup and they didn't have it either and they didn't have it updated on the menu either and they only had one soup of the day which they said was a pork soupโฆ seriously????
After Yah the fried rice is pure rice dyed with Chinese sauce because it cannot bring any meat or eggs or anything you can add whatever you want but then it is already extra that is worth more than pure fried rice
One of the things that disappointed me the most was the mamey milk shake
The truth is that it didn't look like a mamey milk shake, it did seem like an artificial soft drink with a very bad taste... I recommend that you don't try the mamey milk shake because you won't like it at all, it was pure milk water with a flavor very strange
The Customer Service was terrible, the same thing with the girl at the cashier who spoke only English, who is the one who brought our food to the table, who did speak Spanish, but she was a little tormented and lost, I was about to believe that she was new to the restaurant
I have many more things to say but I really have to leave some criteria comment for other new people who visit this place
Instead I'll come back and repeat the only thing that I liked the most, it really impressed me, was the cleanliness of the place and that everything is very new
But my apologies I Nesta mind would not send the Cuban community to that...
ย ย ย Read moreBefore I received my celiac diagnosis I went to the other Cubanidad location and got to try their Cubano sandwich right after I got back from Miami. Honestly, better than any other Cuban sandwich.
Now that I know that I have Celiac disease, sandwiches without gluten free bread are off the menu for me. On 10/6/2021 my husband had a sandwich and we split the Cuban nachos (plantains and black bean hummus $6.35) the cafe con leche ($3.99) watermelon agua fresca ($3) and I had the mojo pork plate ($9.95) - definitely as delicious as my husband told me it would be.
So glad that I was able to eat some stuff on the menu. Unfortunately I did have an intestinal reaction to something that I ate. I'm guessing there is gluten cross contamination in what I assume is the shared fryer for the plantain chips?
If you don't have Celiac disease, this place is 5 stars. Because there are some things that could be changed to widen the customer base to people like me with Celiac, it's not a 5 star experience.
Only thing that would make it better is a gluten free bread option so that I can have their sandwiches, a dedicated fryer for items that don't contain gluten and a menu with notations marking what is gluten free! At minimum just marking the menu would go a long way for accessibility to people with...
ย ย ย Read moreDecided to try this Cuban restaurants since I had good reviews. Had the chicken breast with fried rice. My wife had the chicken breast with Cuban rice and beans. It was pretty good. It was made very well but no extra condiments unless you pay for it sauces and what have you. They have Tabasco sauce , but what is this at breakfast place. Who buys the most cheapest hot sauce that's watered down?! When we ask for iced tea the person at the counter said, yes we have iced tea. After we got our cups we walked all the way over to the drink station, to find out the iced tea was green tea. With most people they know when you ask for iced tea it's not green tea. There are different teas, I mean come on if that's all you have you can easily say we only have green tea.. but we still tried it and it was disgusting it tasted old. So we asked for our money back for the tea.. but that didn't mean the food didn't taste well. I took 2 stars away, because they did make it sound like it was our fault that we should have known that it's green tea. Yeah if I go anywhere else, I won't have to ask to make sure that it's regular dark tea. But because I don't live in the area most likely I won't be back, it's worth a try but, my wife didn't like it...
