FOOD, DRINKS, AND SERVICE WAS SIMPLY AMAZING. It’s hard for me to find a restaurant that can have everything done so well!
Family friendly: yes Parking: yes, shared lot Pet friendly: yes, at their outdoor seating area
FOOD: UBE BREAD PUDDING!!! $5.50 - yes it has to be all in caps. If you can, and you should, get this is as the first thing you order once you sit down. It comes out warm on a warm plate and so delicious. It’s has a coconut sauce that is drizzle on the top that isn’t overalls sweet or thick. Super moist and flavorful.
Roasted cauliflower cauliflower ravioli (spiced pomodoro sauce, roast garlic, roast cherry tomato, sautéed asparagus, CK nut-free pesto oil, micro greens) $16.50: OMG this is sooo good. There was almost no photo of this dish on Google or Yelp. I tried it on a whim at an attempt to be healthier after a weekend of drinking. If you’re turned off by the idea of so much vegetable, the dish is done so well that you don’t notice. Troi, did mentioned to add a side of chicken if you want something heartier.
CRAFTED Benedict (2 poached eggs, smoked shaved Niman ranch ham, English muffin, charred tomatoes, topped with citrus hollandaise) $14.75: super yummy. This is the IG plate of food you want to see when you’re looking at reviews and photos lol
CK Breakfast burrito (Chile relleno stuffed breakfast burrito with 3 cage free eggs, chorizo, pepper Jack cheese, spiced smashed potatoes, CK salsa) $14.95 (made “wet” which is add New Mexican red chili sauce on top $2.95): this is not a pretty plate because it’s a giant burrito 😂. It’s crazy delicious especially with that red salsa. That kick from the Chile is makes me miss Vegas so much!! We don’t get this kind of flavor in Seattle!!
K.F.C. Korean Fried Chicken Burger (Korean inspired fried org six chicken, sriracha slaw, cage free fried egg, on fresh ube bun) $14.95: this is bomb!! The crunch and flavor on that chicken is insane. The slaw has so much flavor - make sure to ask for extra!! This is definitely one of those burger you need to have napkins for.
Short Rib Grilled Cheese (pulled beef short ribs, melted Havarti, caramelized onions, peppadew peppers, toasted sourdough with side salad) $16.95 (+$3.50 sub salad for sweet potato fries): I think the peppadew peppers make the sandwich. It’s really more like a panini than a grill cheese as the cheese to bread to meat ratio doesn’t give you the cheese pull factor. Still a very tasty sandwich.
Truffle fries: all sides are a La cart unless noted on the menu!! I love that this was shoe string fries. But overall these were okay in flavor. Crispiness is great but it didn’t have a lot of truffle flavor.
DRINKS: Brown sugar & cinamon oat latte: great flavor, not too sweet, good amount of milk. Bottomless mimosa: $18/ppl for 90 mins. They had white peach, pineapple, and pomegranate. White peach was definitely the best flavor. Troi was great and constantly kept an eye out on our glasses.
RESTARUANT/MENU: Very local spot that is always busy and don’t take reservations. Went on a Sunday and as you can imagine it was packed. There was fair amount of people in line waiting.
The restaurant could easily add more tables but it was so nice being at a place that wasn’t having you sit on top of another table. Decor is clean, simple, but had enough wood paneling and green that made it inviting.
The menu has something for everyone - breakfast, brunch, some Mexican and Asian influences, etc. they had some very unique items that tasted amazing - the ube stuff!!!
SERVICE: TROI TROI TROI. That’s the server you should ask for. He is super knowledgeable and can answer anything you ask him. Troi is great at providing recommendations based on info you give him - I say this as I’ve had server just tell me what they like and half the time none of it sounds good or it’s something I like or allergic too. Troi will ask you questions on what you like or how hungry you are 🙂. He constantly checked in on us and was the one that recommended the ube at...
Read moreI cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. You just have to go there to really understand how seriously awesome this place is. It looks like just another average sized, contemporary American restaurant but OMG, it could do no wrong.
My single issue: The hostess wasn't that friendly. She was young and just sort of "Meh" about putting our name down and answering the few questions we had. At first I was a little bothered by her uncaring, curt attitude but then I thought, I waited two days to try this place and now I'm going to have to wait another 30 minutes in line, so I'm not going to let this spoil what is hopefully a happy meal experience with my family. So I let it go.
We were seated sooner than expected. Devin was our server and I think he enjoyed our back-and-forth banter as much as we enjoyed him. He was on top of it all. My Vanilla Latte was exactly the way I wanted it. My husband's mimosa was the right amount of everything. He said the alcohol level and taste were spot-on and that if we didn't have to leave, he would've just kept on drinking (LOL).
We got: -Cuban Sandwich -Chimichurri Steak Sandwich -Butternut Squash Hash -CRAFT Benedict -Salmon Benny -Black & White Cookie -Crème Brûlée -Mango Panna Cotta -huge Macaron (they pulled a misnomer on that one and labeled it a "macaroon"- tsk tsk!)
Honestly, I could NOT believe how amazingly perfect the entire meal was from service to food. Everything tasted way better than we expected and the prices, especially on the fantastic desserts, were more than fair. Not one item tasted just "okay." Everything was fabulous. My CRAFT Benedict had thick slices of ham that were so generously cut and the saltiness was at a minimum. The flavors were just beautiful, the absolute BEST Eggs Benedict I have ever had.
I cannot stop bragging about this place. My husband is not a foodie at all but he said this place was great. My two older kids with discerning tastebuds that they get from their mother were beyond impressed. My daughter kept ooh-ing and aah-ing about her Salmon Benny while my son had everyone try a piece of his Chimichurri Steak Sandwich because of how absolutely flawless it was cooked and seasoned. Neither my husband nor I are huge red meat fans but that steak was everything! Every steak needs to taste like the it was cooked by the chef(s) of CRAFTkitchen.
I'm not big on macarons but this one was pleasantly delicious. I was delighted to find a most sweet strawberry filling in the center, which was totally unexpected. The kids gushed with happiness when they saw it. The other thing that caught me off guard was the B&W Cookie. First of all, that thing was gigantic. I never liked B&W cookies because I always found them to be dry and crunchy, which I hate. So I didn't bother trying it until hours later when we were stuck on awful traffic coming back home from Vegas. I took a bite and it was so soft and moist that I was actually taken aback. So I checked it out and it turned out to be more of a cake than a cookie and thought, OMG, they are brilliant! Again it ran through my mind that this place could do nothing wrong.
It's been a long time since any eatery has wowed me to this level. Very few places in general have ever left such an impression like this on me. Thank you so much, CRAFTkitchen, for just knocking it way out of the park and exceeding any standards we had. Each one of us walked away feeling so satisfied with the entire experience. I cannot wait to visit you again all the way from...
Read moreWe were looking for a local and not our usual places to go on New Years day and foumd this place on Yelp. Overall if I could give it 3 and a half stars I would, but it didnt wow me enough to bump it up to 4; let me explain why. First, we did and I highly recommend using the wait list on Yelp. We got there around 10 am and were immediately seated in front of 2 other parties that were there when we arrived. So, 5 stars on that.
Our server came over and dropped off two waters, which by the looks of the film on them, their water is not filtered. Warning to visitors to Las Vegas, all the water in the valley is recycled with a very high PPM of liquified solids. That means no extra inhouse filtration system. In other words, bring your own water. So, 1 star there. This is always a big turn off for me, since people with low immune systems like mine are more inclined to getting sick from unfiltered tap water. I have a excellent system at home to avoid this issue and I guess I'm a little spoiled.
Next the food was ok. The portion sizes for the price are small and do not come with any sides. My pork carnitas Benedict was good, but over salted and the double lemon used in both the hollandaise and avocado spread made it tart. By the time I finished I felt like I had sucked on a lemon. Oh and it was only lukewarm when it came out. However, I would have to say the poached eggs (pictured) were done perfectly... being firm on the outside and runny in the middle. My GF ordered the avocado toast, which was two pieces instead three as pictured in some of the other pics. Luckily she is not a big eater. Overall I'd have to say the food was 3 stars.
Also, they make their coffee to order, which I thought WOW this is going to be good. The first cup came out lukewarm, as did the pot of water for tea we also ordered, and after having to ask twice for refill on the coffee, the second one was so hot it burned my tongue. Overall, I would say the coffee at Rise and Shine is much better if you love strong coffee.
And lastly, the tables are very close together and they seated a family of 5 next to us toward the end of our meal. Both the father and little girl had colds and she ended up sneezing in our direction and didn't cover her mouth. Then she proceeded to blow her nose right there at the table... gross! Usually this kind of stuff doesn't really bother me, however she was less than 2 feet from us... keeping my fingers crossed that both of us don't come down with it too just having stayed in on New Years because we both were just getting over one ourselves.
In summary, we'd probably go back and try this place again. I do wonder how they would function if it got really busy? Which when we left there were probably 15 people waiting. It just didn't seem like they had enough servers on the floor to cover the tables, since everything came out Luke warm and we only saw our server three times during the 1.5 hours...
