I am here to rate the customer service not the food. I ordered 2 bowls and pita fries. Madison (not sure if this is the correct spelling of her name) assisted me with my order. She saw my pita fries were BURNED, she still packed them and gave them to me. I came back in the store within 30sec. She saw me with the box and went in the kitchen to make me the new batch of pita fries. When it was my turn in line, she handed me the new fries and said Thank you- No apologies, No how can I help you. I was ok because she fixed the problem. When I asked to make me Feta fries instead, she added the sauce and cheese on top of the BURNED product and handed me the pkt. When I opened the box & found the same burned fries decorated, I told her this is not what I want. I want the French fries. She tells me I told her to decorate the burned fries. Why would I do that?

I told her, I want that box replaced. But again, she never apologized nor asked what the problem was. She said to make Feta, it will be extra. I said Fine. So she charged me $3 for the pita fries and she charged me $4.30, telling me she will charge for the small hummus so it’s cheaper for me ( just to put feta cheese and sauce on top). That’s $7.50 she charged me for feta fries and their pricing board clearly says Feta fries are for $6.59. It does not say French fries or pita fries. She tells me that’s a difference and I needed to tell her. How was I supposed to know? I was falsely OVER charged for the partial food which was given to me. Had I not opened the box, I would’ve been stuck with the burned fries. Worst customer service ever! The least she could’ve done was added the cheese and the sauce on the FRESH fries and said sorry, but nothing. I even told her those fries are for my 3yr old but nothing. She didn’t care if I my kid ate burned food. extremely unprofessional from her is the reason I have to give this place 1 star. Did I say, she over charged me for the product that wasn’t even listed. Extremely annoyed. Just because of her, I do not want step foot in this place. Be warned people: check your food because they will charge to correct it or atleast she did. All of this was happening while my 3yr old and my husband sat in the car waiting and hungry. But she didn’t care. Ridiculous!

Beware the automatic 20% tip scam.

I have long been a fan of Hummus Bowls & Wraps, and I still like their food. However, a recent event causes me to question their honesty and business practices.

On a recent visit, after paying by credit card for the two bowls that I ordered, I noticed on the checkout screen that the charge for the meals seemed unreasonably high. Upon further investigation, I found that the charge included a 20% tip that I had not authorized. When I questioned the employee who had taken my credit card, I was told that the system "automatically adds a 20% tip" unless I select otherwise. This was not called to my attention when I was checking out. I am elderly, and I was fortunate to catch this unauthorized charge. I could have easily missed it. I believe the employee should have mentioned that I had to take an action in order to avoid being charged an unauthorized amount. In my opinion, this restaurant is deliberately trying to scam their customers, especially the vulnerable elderly, with this sneaky "automatic" charge.
