I had been a customer of the location on Sunset for multiple years, which ended today. My girlfriend used the website to place an order which uses Doordash to process payments even though we are picking up the food. Somehow my gf selected the wrong location. We noticed the error 5-10 minutes after submitting the order. We called this location and canceled the order, and we were given the toll-free number for Doordash.
Door dash told us that someone at this location on Eastern marked the order as “picked up.” As you can imagine, this small mistake made everything so much more difficult. We contacted Doordash, who told us they had to call and confirm the food hadn't been picked up, which they did. Afterward, Doordash still couldn't refund or even credit the money towards another order. We were told to either drive to the Eastern location (45 minutes away), or it will be discarded (given away).
I contacted the Eastern location and spoke to “Coco,” who said she was a manager. She refused to help or even assist in sending the order to the Sunset location. They told me there weren't any Customer Service numbers and all of the upper or administrative personnel were out on vacation for a week or so and go to the website. We never picked up any food from the Eastern location and we called to cancel BEFORE the food was ready because during the first call, they had to put me on hold for several minutes to look for the order .
It's clear that the personnel at the Eastern location need better training at least a warning on how important improperly marking orders as “picked up” is to customer and literal cluster** of problems such a small mistake can set off. Because had that not been done I would've been able to at least start the refund process and placed another order at the Sunset location. Yes, we didn't even want a refund just move the order to the right location. But now I have to wait to contact these administrative people who don't have any type of customer service system setup. As a customer who raved about eggsworks, and now being left with little to no recourse, how can I stomach another visit? So I'll just take me and my few dollars elsewhere. By what I overheard being said to “Coco,” I doubt it matters much to them anyways. I'll just say this much, social media has a funny way of dealing with these types of easily...
Read moreThe server was fantastic. The food, came with a bonus in the form of a metal shaving in my husband's muffin. Thank God he felt it and didn't swallow it. Bummed to learn they don't make them fresh there. Told "corporate" will have to handle "fixing" this, whatever that means. It was not a piece of brillo pad. It was a sharp shaving. I wish we had taken a picture before they took it to the manager. But the server went above and beyond and was very professional and cheerful which is so nice.
Thank you for the reply, Monica. You did great, as much as you could do. Considering the metal would have caused catastrophic damage to his digestive system simply covering his meal wasn't enough from the company, not that we wanted anything other than communication from upper management. I really think someone from corporate ought to have reached out to let us know what they will do to make sure this never happens again. I saw a production bakery on YouTube that runs their corporate baked goods through a metal detector prior to shipping, perhaps corporate can institute something like that. We don't want anything other than assurance this will not happen again should we decide to take a chance. You were wonderful. It just would have been good to hear from the superiors actually in charge of allowing this to happen in the first place. Thank you for handling as much as you could with such grace. They ought to promote you or at least give you a good raise for being so good representing the company and things out of your control. You and our server were the only reason we didn't walk out on the spot. Thank you.
In addition, my husband and I were just talking about this and realized had he unknowingly consumed the extremely sharp, corkscrew like metal shaving months could have gone by before he would have gotten the correct diagnosis and treatment and we would have had no idea where it came from and Egg Works would have never been informed that they have had such a problem with their product. For this reason I stand by my review and sharing the information to bring about awareness and a correction of procedures to make sure this doesn't happen to...
Read moreI have to say, having been to this location before, I've never left more disappointed than today. Awful. Prices here are by far the highest of any breakfast establishment in the Henderson area. With prices that high, you'd expect food and service to represent accordingly. Not here. The server took a drink order for our other late arriving friends, and it took almost 15 minutes for it to arrive (tjey arrived before the drinks). Food came quick. The egg flip device for service required was ignored by all but one server - sadly, she wasn't my server. When food arrived, our Reuben was missing 1000 Island dressing. After 10 minutes with the face thingy flipped over indicating service needed, I sought my server. I found her and the manager in what appeared to be a disagreement. She was very animated, and he stood squarely while I approached and asked for dressing. I mistakenly asked for Hollandaise. She finally came 5 to 7 minutes later with the Hollandaise sauce, and we corrected and asked for 1000 Island. My nieces sandwich was cold, as the server hadn't checked in before we asked for the Hollandaise. Another 5 to 7 minutes for 1000 Island. No apology. And, we never saw our server or the manager again. I don't know what happened to this place. Prices are printed cash/credit and a basic breakfast is $15-20 a plate. Food was OK, but not outstanding. While we never saw our waitress again, I can say we will return the favor. We will NEVER eat here again. And you shouldn't either. Awful.
EDIT: The managers response is a complete fabrication (he was the manager on duty that day so a bit of defensiveness here) The waitress was at the table to take our order and bring condiments (we had to get her to the table and the timelines I wrote were conservative, Angelo don't lie and deny the truth) not four times and not once to check on food. The manager (Angelo I see you bud) NEVER came to our table once. Man, as if it's not bad enough you, your server and the price of your mediocre food stinks, you're ALSO a liar? Angelo, man. Own it. I wrote what I wrote because it's TRUE. SMH. Email you? I don't...
