Sal's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Henderson

Today me and my daughters and and my daughters service dog walked in Sal's.... The owner looked up over at us and the sweet waitress that walked up to seat us.... She said do u have the dogs card bc the owner will require it.... So I got on my phone since my daughter had left her wallet in my mom's card and I pulled up the card and the letter from my daughter's neurologist stating she has seizures and that is what the dog is for.... So the waitress went to walk over to the owner and tell her we had all the dogs paperwork (given the dog had on her vest and was like calm and still beside my daughters feet like she has been trained to do) and before she even got to the owner she was shaking her head.... The sweet waitress was like I'm so sorry she told me no she can not be in here.... I said even with all the documents and even a medical letter from her neurologist the dog can't be here.... She said yes that's what she said.... I told the girl I know this is not ur fault but we will never be back in here.... I said so the owner could hear since instead of coming over her self she sent the poor little waitress to do her dirty work... I said so what happens when my daughter falls out in this restaurant in a seizure and bust her head open ... Who gets sued????...... This is horrible to deny a 16 year old with brain injury and seizures service dog from entering!!! Very poor on the owner and to send the poor waitress over to tell...

"EDIT 5-20-2022" Changed my review to a 1 from a 2. I didn't eat my Supreme Pizza as it was unbearably hot and humid. Instead I had it boxed up to take home to eat. Well let's just say that the pizza is not even mediocre. There is zero tomato sauce on it. Literally the only flavor I am getting is from the jalapeños and parmeasan on put on it. You want better pizza, then swing by a gas station and get some hunt brothers pizza thin crust. I truly enjoy supporting local businesses but when service, quality of food and atmosphere are in shambles something needs to be done quickly. Truly hope Sal's can make a come back, they use to be awesome. Until then I'll give it a year or 2 before I go back.

"Original post 5-19-2022" First time back in over 2 years. Made a reservation for 8, two hours before arriving. No one told us that their Air conditioning was busted. Got here and the place feels like a sauna. They have no fans to circulate air. On top of that our waiter who is as slow as molasses in the winter finds all the time in the world to talk and be a chatty Kathy with people, so we had to ask another server to order us drinks. The tuna Wasabi is definitely not the same as it use to be and the Supreme Pizza is severely lacking in tomato sauce. Prices reflect a 5 star restaurant, this isn't that. We will come back in 2 years and hopefully they will have improved.

What a hidden gem 💎 found in Henderson Texas! This amazing restaurant sits down a bit, between 2 other buildings and if you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right by. Fortunately someone took me there for lunch, and my tastebuds will never be the same. In fact, I went the following day (today)and brought my family for dinner.

The atmosphere is perfect, great design, beautiful things to admire as fast as decor along with seating by the lake! As you walk up to the entrance there is a nice fountain set up and it really prepares you to be relaxed and transposed into the great atmosphere inside. It is wheelchair friendly.

All of the staff is friendly. The restaurant is very clean. The bathroom was clean and had room for my wheelchair. They provide hand sanitizer at the door for those who want it.

The food is authentic Italian and it is divine!! The portions are big, the prices are extremely fair (cheapest I've eaten in 2 months with my family). It is so refreshing to be able to sit and truly enjoy the entire experience without complaint, and not have to pay an "arm & a leg".

At the time of this review, they are hiring! If you need a job drop by. I don't want this place to close down because they don't have enough staff. I highly recommend Sal's, if you are in Henderson you can't drive through and miss out on an amazing experience! Get some Sal's while...
