Yokohama Japanese Grill — Restaurant in Hendersonville

Been going here for YEARS. It’s definitely not a high end restaurant. It’s a hidden gem that you wouldn’t expect. I literally lived off this place when I was in a stage of my life where I was couch hopping and living in my car. Not having a lot of money, there wasn’t a lot of places that you can spend under $10 for a good hearty meal that wasn’t McDonald’s. This was something I could buy and it would last me two-three days with just one meal. I’m a Japanese food FANATIC, but Now that I have my own apartment and doing well these days, I still would pick this little spot over a $40 meal at a different Japanese restaurant. I’ve met the workers here and they are super hard working! I don’t get to go here as much as I used to bc now I live in near Gallatin but I definitely doordash when I’m needing some yummy teriyaki broccoli and spicy chicken fried rice.

If you’re looking for something fresh, quick, and surprisingly cheap then Definitely give it a try and don’t forget to ask for their delicious house made YumYum sauce! (They also have a drive through)

Service was good but waitress was new so had to keep asking to fill our drinks. Food was just okay but expected more food coming from a hibachi grill. Cook out two eggs in fried rice that was enough for 10 customers around the grill. Seems trivial but I love eggs in fried rice and was disappointed. Love the grill master. He was entertaining. Salad was just awful with their house dressing. Not one of us ate its. The yum yum sauce was different and not as good as your typical yum yum sauce. A person on my order doesn't eat their food when it touches... (I know, weird...) so I requested the vegetables to be on the side. The restaurant adjusted my order adding 55 cents. Imagine micromanaging your business SOOO extremely that you alter the receipts to offset pennies. Is the 55 cents gained worth the bad review? Might seem like a minor annoyance but I've never been charged for something requested to be on the side. If you don't want to honor a request, don't do it.
