So I honestly have no idea what to say. I've been to this Dairy Queen before a couple times usually we order through the drive-thru and we're only ordering ice cream. This time we went in because we were ordering food and wanted to sit down to eat.
Using a digital coupon, I was going to specifically order a kids meal, a stack burger combo, and a chicken basket combo meal. I go to order the kid meal with a hamburger and ask what comes on it, the worker said that it had pickles, ketchup, and mustard. I asked to remove the pickles and then ask if I could add tomatoes. The worker said that she wasn't sure if she could add that. And I go well can we just add the tomatoes, and the worker said they're not allowed to add tomatoes to hamburger meals. So I'm like okay fine whatever I'll just order the stack burger and in my mind I'll take the tomato from that one and give it to my kid who wants the tomato.
So we order the chicken basket and then I go to put in my stackburger combo order and I asked what comes on it, and the worker said it comes with pickles, mustard, and ketchup. I asked can I add tomatoes to that and again the worker says she's not allowed to add tomatoes to the hamburger. And so I then, in the middle of ordering google searched if this was a company policy to see if this franchise is stingy and weird. And the answer was, it's not a company policy to not add extra things to a hamburger.
Whatever, then we go have a seat and while waiting for our order, I do a mock-up of what would happen if I ordered through the mobile app. So I go to add a hamburger kids meal and in that option there is a customize button that you can click and it has the option to add tomatoes to the hamburger among other things. And it's the same for all of the hamburgers....
So then the worker calls out my number and is walking towards me with the tray of our food. I go to reach for the tray and she says no she can't let me have the tray (as if there's only that one tray in the entire restaurant) and she proceeds to put all of our food individually on the table.
At that point I ask her about the mobile order and what would happen if I had ordered through the mobile order app would my changes have been fulfilled. She said that no, they would make my food according to the policy of their store. I that informed her that that is not a company policy so what they're doing is wrong. And she said I don't know that's just what my boss tells me.
And then, why am I mixing up my meal with my child's meal? Why did I pay $10 for a meal that has the same size fry and same size hamburger as a kid meal that only cost $6? Like what is this? Will not be coming back at all because this company has unethical and shady standards by which...
Read moreMy husband had taken my son to get some food and an ice cream. My husband specifically told them I have a child with a nut allergy. They get home and my son starts eating his ice cream. He crunches down on a nut. This isn't the first time with this location either. Someone I know told them the same thing and they gave them something with peanut butter. When told to someone who works there she said we'll it's not peanuts it's peanut butter. Which explains to me that these workers at this location were not properly trained or just don't care. When I called to explain my situation I got a sorry and I'll explain it to the owner and we'll replace your meal. We'll unfortunately that's not good enough. These workers need to be retrained properly. They need to know that their mistake and carelessness can kill someone. I'm not going to just sit back and let this happen to another person. I'm going to make sure DQ does something about this situation. I think it's time to get ahold of city food inspectors, osha and BBB. Until DQ can prove they have properly trained their employees. I know we take the risk going somewhere, where their is nuts, but we've never had an issue anywhere we go if we tell them in advance. And it's not like the nuts were visible they were kind of hidden so he didn't see them till he...
Read moreWhen we arrived for lunch today, the restaurant was almost empty, and we asked if we could please wait for fresh french fries. We waited quite a while for our orders, assuming that our request was the reason. When we received our food, it was barely even warm. We told the kind gentleman at the counter, and he said he would remake it. The "manager," Valerie, then came out from the back and approached us at our table and quite loudly kept telling us that SHE is the one who made the food so SHE knows it's hot. When we told her it wasn't, she still proceeded to argue loudly. She was embarrassing us, and we had to ask her to please stop making a scene. She kept saying that if we now wanted fresh french fries, our chicken would then be cold. According to Health Department standards, that touched food should have been discarded and not taken to the back. We asked for our money back, and Valerie kept arguing, even at the register. She was so nasty that she even said that I could "talk to someone" if I wanted to. If what she said about her and the young man being the only ones there was true, then she probably didn't have so much time to argue about french fries! HORRIBLE...
