One star simply because I like the food, however, we waited ONE HOUR AND 40 MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD! I went in Saturday night and ate dinner with my friend, so I deiced to go in the following night with my family (Sunday night). It was busy I understand that (I'm not a monster!), but we waited 40 minutes before my grandmother got up to let them know we want our food as soon as possible. We were originally supposed to eat there by the way. Five minutes or so passed before the waitress came and asked for our receipt, she didn't need to say it but she obviously LOST our order! We had to wait even longer o that we may gt our food. It got to the point that I got up and told the cashier that I wanted to change my order to take out. One hour later and I got up to ask for my refills and that's when the waitress came back with our food to go. She tried running away to the safety of the kitchen but I called her attention asking for my refills. She tries to run off again. I say I want the seedy sriracha. She tries to run off again (without apologizing!) and that's when I realized she is not going to apologize without me bringing up how long we stayed there. So I brought it up and all she said was "Yeaa sorry about that." I was to mad I didn't want to appear aggressive, that's why I chose to leave. The only reason I stayed was to see how long they are actually going to make us wait for our food. That was the worst service I've ever had in my entire life! I wish I got that waitresses name just so I could make sure she gets a warning or something. They did even give us extra food or anything and every place I've been to that messed up my order would give me something in return, even another Pho place in San Diego. Not to mention how filthy the floors were and how I almost slipped 5 times! It really sucks because I like the food, and my family has eaten there for years. My mom goes in the lunch rush hour and they have never made her wait more than 20 minutes. It's really unfortunate this had to happen, because they lost a very...
Read moreThe pics speak for themselves. The #3 chicken teriyaki plate, add shrimp. No sauce. Simple & great tasting. Miss being able to sit inside. Update 2/8/2022 We can dine in again! Yay. The food is good. The service no. My husband was given his food, then 30 min later after he's finished they finally bring out mine. Mind u that's after he went up there to remind them. They apologized & were nice but I knew there was a problem cause we never got our drinks either! They're over there trying to complete all this new demand for carry out/delivery. This pandemic has made ppl lazy I think. They are clearly short staffed. The kitchen ppl came up front to help. That's a handwritten "we are hiring" sign on the door. I understand so I didn't get upset. They're still really nice. Now the food is still amazing. I got the #3 chicken (add shrimp) spicy no teriyaki sauce. My favorite! Good portion size. Remember if u go, be ready to sit there, remind them you're still there, sit some more, another reminder & then enjoy your food when it finally arrives. Staff is great, but they're extremely short staffed like everywhere else. 1 girl was making all the drinks, running the register, taking phone & dine in orders, handing out condiments, etc. It was sad to watch. There was only 1 other diner besides us in there. 99% was carry out or delivery. Oh, no.more self serve on the soy sauce, hot sauce, etc. No extra napkins cause the tables are bare now. They put sauce in a tiny cup & u get that with 2 napkins & real forks. No more plastic so that's good. It was nice & quiet cause everyone was just placing orders or picking up. Very hectic for the staff. We won't be going back unfortunately. We spent maybe 1+ hour just waiting. And if we hadn't gone up to remind them 3 times I think we were totally forgotten. They should just close the dining room again & focus on the takecout part. They did put extra shrimp on there...
Read moreThe actual pho was ok, they provided the normal stuff that any pho restaurant provides (hoisin sauce, sriracha, bean sprouts, mint, etc), but even with all the normal stuff I added, it turned the broth from "edible" to "ok, this is fine i guess" Despite me calling it "ok" I wouldn't want to eat it again. The prices for their standard pho is actually low, and I was able to buy 3 pho bowls for a little under $20 (You get what you pay for?). The time to receive the pho was pretty standard as well, so there's no complaints there.
I have a few more complaints that I'll list off real quick -Having the TV playing in the background in a poorly lit restaurant made the atmosphere rather uncomfortable to sit in in a sense (it definitely didn't help that it was also cloudy that day) -Ordering in the front THEN sitting made it feel more like they were trying to make pho a "fast food" (take this how you will) -the place didn't look too clean. It didn't look exactly dirty, but I still wouldn't call it clean
I gave it 2 stars because the prices are pretty good and the wait time wasn't that bad. I removed the 3 stars for the complaints I...
