I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spice of India, and it was an experience worth sharing. Here’s a breakdown of the delightful dishes I enjoyed:
Chicken Tikka Masala - This classic dish was a standout. The chicken was tender and succulent, perfectly marinated and cooked in a rich, creamy tomato sauce. The balance of spices was just right, with a hint of smokiness that added depth to the flavor. It was neither too spicy nor too mild, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy a bit of heat without being overwhelmed.
Sizzling Tandoori Chicken - The tandoori chicken arrived on a hot, sizzling platter, creating an enticing aroma that filled the air. It was a feast for the senses.
Samosas - The samosas were crispy on the outside and filled with a savory mixture of spiced potatoes and peas. The pastry was light and flaky, and the filling was well-seasoned, making each bite satisfying. Served with mint chutney, they were the perfect appetizer to start the meal.
Garlic Naan - The garlic naan was soft and pillowy, with a generous amount of garlic and cilantro. It was the perfect accompaniment to the chicken tikka masala, ideal for soaking up the delicious sauce. The bread was fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, making it a delightful addition to the meal.
Tandoori Roti- The tandoori roti was a great complement to the dishes. It had a slightly chewy texture with a smoky, charred flavor from the tandoor. It was perfect for wrapping around pieces of tandoori chicken or for dipping into the masala sauce.
Mango Lassi - To round off the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing mango lassi. It was creamy and thick, with the perfect sweetness from ripe mangoes. The lassi provided a cool, soothing contrast to the spices of the meal, making it an ideal choice for dessert or a palate cleanser.
Overall, Spice of India offers a delightful culinary journey through the flavors of Indian cuisine. Each dish was prepared with care, showcasing the rich traditions and vibrant spices that make Indian food so beloved.
I highly recommend visiting this restaurant for an authentic and satisfying...
Read moreBased on previous Google reviews before I headed out, I expected a 4.5 star meal paying around $20. I am sad to say that the reviews are out of date. Today is 04/20/2023.
Plates start at $14 and do not include anything except a pitiful amount of rice. Like, barely a small tea mug's worth of rice. An actual serving of rice will cost you $6 extra. So for JUST an entree, you're at $20. The entree itself (I ordered lamb curry), has hardly any meat. I think I received about 6 small US Quarter sized pieces that were about a 1/4 inch thin. There were another 6 pieces that were about the size of a dime or a nickel.
Plain Naan costs $3 for a good portion, but anything except plain bread will cost you $6 or more. I asked for hummus, and apparently they've never heard of it - which I thought was strange.
To have a normal restaurant meal here, you're looking at $20 for the entree, $6 for a side dish, and likely $5 for a drink (I didn't order one).
I personally don't think it is worth $30+ to eat here. It's far too expensive for what you...
Read moreThis was my families favorite place to eat regularly. The staff always made you feel welcomed and taken care of, with amazing fresh food. Especially the gentleman who would handle the front tables and register. Now there seems to be a lot of changes and new staff. The female at the front is unprofessional, and gives off a fake friendly vibe also ignores what you say or ask for. It's like you wanna believe she cares and is trying but things you ask for just seems like a bother. The customer service has decreased along with quality. Seems like they did a major change with staffing which is unfortunate, restaurants like that are made by amazing employees. I hope they notice it soon. It's truly sad because our family loves this restaurant, yet unfortunately we're looking for a new place due to the major declines in this establishment. I used to only recommend this place, unfortunately now I can not due to the service and the lately frequent...
