We always stop at Hooters for lunch when we are in Hickory as it is close to our clients, has wifi, and they generally do not charge us for soda water. The food is okay and I suppose the beer selection is alright too but I am not going there at noon on a wednesday for gourmet food or a cold beer. I am going to hooters for the wifi, to get some work done, and some pleasant company. I may even watch a few minutes of tv. I think it is only natural to have our favorite hooters gal at each location, so I was quite excited to see Ashten was working today. We had decided to evaluate the dining room before we arrived and to my joy, the bar was occupied and not condusive to setting out 2 laptops. To my joy, Ashten sat us as I complimented her change in hairstyle. After relieving myself in the restroom I was quite disappointed to learn a different server had claimed us as "her regulars" without asking us how we felt.
We are regulars at Hooters, plain and simple. I have traveled all across the southeast over 10 years and hosted dozens of wing nights at Hooters in Medellin. Hooters has always represented a safe place to grab an okay meal, something to drink, and catch up on the day's emails to me. While I have not frequented many hooters locations reguarly, there are some I go to more than others and generally feel comfortable with anyone of the girls. I may have requested a section before or to be sat with someone who I knew would take great care of me.
I am not sure if this has anything to do with money or the occupancy of the restaurant, while we tip well we are not excessive.
End of the day, my experience was below mediocre today and I lost all the joy of dining at hooters. I no longer wanted to order once we were claimed like some sort of object.
I didn't come here for the great cheeseburgers, I came here because I needed to and every bit of happiness I had walking in the door was completely eliminated due to jealousy. Hooters should not be a competition, I should not have to ask to for the person who greets me at the door with a smile and brightens my day to be the one who continues to take care of us. I certainly did not come to Hooters to be offered massuese...
Read moreI want to share a little story with you. There is no order. Because your hickory location disabled ordering carryout after 7pm. Last week and next week I am working doubles all week because the holidays. Wed I asked my wife if she wanted food from my restaurant or for me to pick something up on the way home. She said hooters. I attempted to put in our order early for 8pm. The app would not let me put anything in past 7pm. So i decided to wait till i was done at work (8pm) and try again then. Maybe something was not working because i know the restaurant is open till midnight. Well at 8pm I attempted again, and the app told me the restaurant was closed. I knew this was wrong because yeah, they are open. So I called the restaurant. I told their girl that answered I wanted to place a carryout order. She said ok, and took my order, 10 mins later after I gave her everything, I hear someone in the background tell her "no carryouts" or something like that. THen she tells me "Sorry we are closed for carryout orders". I WAS PISSED. Sat there on the phone for 10-15 mins giving my order and was told NOPE. My wife called the restaurant today about 5pm explaining to them what happened. This is the good part. The manager on the phone called me and my wife liars. He said there was no proof as there was no order in the system, and he said he was there that night and would never let that happen on his watch. I am beyond absolutely livid that someone would talk to my disabled wife like that on the phone. She has enough health issues and to be called a liar and talked down...
Read more1 Star because our Server was very nice and attentive.
WOW!! And not the good WOW either. After hanging out a bit, playing Trivia, and having a couple of beers, (won $25 gift card), we ordered one more brew and food.
After about a 20 minute wait, a cook came to our table and said we had stayed too long and had to leave. We had just ordered about $75.00 in food. He advised us that we had to eat our food and leave, and could not have anymore alcohol since our allotted time was up?!?! I had a total of 3.5 beers in approximately 2 hours. My guest had the same. We advised him to cancel the food order and asked for the check. Total was for approximately $45.00. $20 after GC was applied.
There were 2 drunk guys at one table arguing and cursing extremely loudly at each other and were not asked to leave. Even causing one family of 5 (3 young children) to leave, after complaining about all the loud cursing, and nothing being done.
Don't know what is going on at this location, really don't care, but we will take our business, and money, somewhere else. We will not be back, and advise others to do the same. DO NOT WALK!!! RUN AWAY FROM HOOTERS OF HICKORY!!!!
