If you are a delivery driver I would avoid this location at all costs. I am a delivery driver and Salsarita's has always been on the slow side but my last two visits were unreal. I waited over 30 minutes on 5/3/21 for two tacos and a drink to be made. Today, 5/7/2021 I waited for 46 minutes and NEVER RECEIVED THE FOOD. I was told when I walked in that the order was being completed. At the 30 minute mark I went and asked for an update, I was told that it was being worked on. I informed the girl that I was told that 30 minutes prior. She pointed behind her and said it was being placed in bags right then. 16 minutes later I walked out empty handed. I spoke to an employee who admitted that the others in the back "know how long I've been waiting and don't seem to care", also that "they refuse to hurry up". I talked to other waiting on to go orders and was told that they have received deliveries from Salsaritas that were ice cold and the cold drinks were room temp. This makes the delivery driver look bad even though it is no fault of their own and also makes it impossible to make money. These teenagers make it very, abundantly clear that they do not care about their job.
Update 6/5/21
I entered Salsarita’s and it was completely empty of customers, I can’t stress this enough..NOT ONE customer in line or eating at a table. I went to the counter and made eye contact with four employees, all of which refused to approach and ask if I need help. After a minute or so I rang the bell they have provided to get the attention of employees for delivery orders. A woman wiping off blue trays who was maybe 10 feet away heard me ring the bell but never turned her head. I eventually approached the employees who were huddled by the serving line and joking with each other. I asked about my order and was told it would be ready soon. I then sat at the counter and was asked about 5 minutes later by the woman who ignored the bell if I had an order. I explained that yes I had an order which was the reason for me standing at the counter and ringing the bell. She walked away without responding. I was given the order, one burrito bowl, 9 minutes later. I kept track of the time on my phone.
Update 6/7/21
Once again greeted with a piss poor attitude the moment I approached the counter. The young girl with septum piercing who was wiping off the trays dropped them and sighed as she walked my way. I said “hello” in the most polite voice I could possibly use even though I dread entering this establishment because I’ve yet to have a decent experience. My hello was greeted with “name?” by the girl. I again said hello and was greeted with a blank stare. I gave her the name and she went and giggled with her coworkers before coming back and saying “it ain’t ready” with zero concern and continued to wipe trays. I was given the order about ten minutes later by another girl with an equally bad attitude. I’ve had several terrible experiences in between this and the first reported. Talking to other delivery driver has confirmed that Salsarita’s has earned one of the worst reputations in town with delivery drivers and customers. It should be noted that I don’t have this issue with any other merchants in town. I actually have a great relationship with the staff of many restaurants in town from doing thousands of deliveries. I will continue to document these interactions until employees are held accountable...
Read moreI love Salsarita’s in general — the food selection, service, BUT I have a major source of contention for this Hickory Salsarita’s. The prices in the computer do not always match the prices on the menu board — this is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I have spoken with management about this, and it has never been resolved. Essentially, they are OVERCHARGING customers and taking advantage of people who don’t notice. This is not fair to the public! Just be aware people if you’re watching your budget.
Here is just one recent example from this location. I eat at many different Salsarita’s regularly. You can see the menu board for kid’s meals has it broken down into 1) cheese, 2) pork/chicken/beef, and 3) steak/shrimp categories. However, if you add lettuce or tomato, the price rings up higher. I questioned this, because I ordered the cheese nachos, but the employee said that allowed “cheese only.” I asked, because that doesn’t apply to adult entrees where you add your toppings, and other Salsarita’s do not charge more. The employee showed me that all the prices for the kid’s meals were actually ‘a little bit different’ in the computer depending on what you ordered (his words). That doesn’t even sound right — there is only one price listed on the menu board.
Pay attention — more and more restaurants are not updating their menus, and you’re actually paying more than you think you are. Those listed prices on the menus influence our purchases and splurges more than we think, and companies can take advantage of that. Imagine, for example: just an extra $1.25 from 75 customers each day for 30 days = $2,812.50. It adds up quickly!...
Read moreI wanted to praise some of the staff at Salsarita’s Hickory location. We are regular customers of this location, especially when our granddaughters are with us. Our granddaughters love it because they are made to feel special when we arrive at Salsarita’s on our weekly date nights with them. They do not want to go anywhere else and always ask to go to Salsarita’s. We are always greeted kindly whenever we visit this location, but Susan has went above and beyond as she has loved on our granddaughters. Once she gave them an extra chocolate chip cookie with their meals and that pretty much sealed the deal in their minds. Ha! But, Susan will engage with our granddaughters and they are happy to see here and will greet her with a hug.
I also wanted to give a shout out to Fran and Andrea as one or both of them usually take care of our orders on a regular basis. They are kind and greet us with a smile and kindly help us get our order together as we move down the line.
On our last visit, when we were eating, my wife and I both noticed at different times Yoabdriel as he went about his work. He was proactive and constantly scanning for things that needed to be completed. As we watched him, he was very thorough in his work and he paid attention to his surroundings which is a breath of fresh air, especially today when everyone seems to walk around with their nose stuck in a phone no matter what they are doing and miss many important details/things in life.
We appreciate it and just want to celebrate these 4 on staff at your Hickory location.
Have a great...
