My new favorite place to get work done. Before this place opened there wasn't really a decent cafe or coffee shop to work/study. The atmosphere is perfect - like a little piece of Charlotte was brought to Hickory. The owner is really nice.
The coffee is great! The only thing that could make it better would be better quality food for the price. It's slightly pricey and the food is just.. okay. It's good enough if I'm starving but not amazing. The most disappointing item so far was the avocado toast. I think my expectations were a bit too high.. it was just a thin piece of toast with what tasted like store bought avocado spread on it. For $6 and change it would've been nice for some chunky spread on it or at least a little more avocado. Perhaps an egg included on the toast instead of separate. If ya'll could rework the food menu a bit to make it more substantial then this place would be an 11/10.
Welcome to Hickory and thanks for...
Read moreCoffee was quite good - but did take a while. Drinks are measured out per shot and ground per shot, which does take add'l time. And it was quite expensive. 2 drinks were $14. And parking isn't ideal: one-way to the back with just a few tight spots. Parking also behind the restaurant next door is probably the best. It takes time for things to get a groove so I will go back again and update after that. Update: I've been here about 10x now. Coffee is very good. Food is a bit lacking for the cost; I.e. salmon bagel has about 1/2 oz of salmon one time and 2oz another time. They inconsistently either call the food name and leave it at the bar, and sometimes they bring it to the table. Would be much easier to take the customer name like that main stream place [hint hint]. This creates frustration for people that got up to get theirs. The bus tray for dirty dishes is comically small - holds...
Read moreI wanted so badly to make this cute establishment my new coffee spot. However with the drink I was given thismorning, I wonât be going back. I ordered a small latte with an extra shot, add honey/cinnamon/and whip cream on top -made with soy milk. Iâm not sure who made the drink, however they need to be taught how to steam soy milk. Over half of the cup was literal âsludgeâ consistency.. either they dumped half the container of cinnamon in the drink, or they over steamed the soy milk. To say this beverage was âundrinkableâ is an understatement. I wish I had pictures of when I took the lid off to see if it was just the whip cream that was the problem. The entire drink went into the trash once I took the lid off and saw the contents of the cup. I tipped the sweet ladies working their $3 on a $4 drink hoping I would be going back. Unfortunately I canât say that I would recommend this...
