We loved the atmosphere, but the food and ... stinginess made the entire experience not worth it, however, we will be back.
The mixed drinks were great and the service was great!
We ordered the Shiner Bock Focaccia and were let down when we ran out of bread, but had half of the dip left. When inquired for more bread I was told it would be an upcharge. I understand the cost, but I felt this was a bit overboard.
I ordered a salad with my main entree. The salad was very fresh, and beautiful. It was seasoned very salty, even for someone like me who likes salt. It was edible, but generous on the salt.
Our main entrees looked incredible! A filet and ribeye. We also ordered a side of asparagus and macaroni and cheese. The sides were nothing to write home about. The presentation was nice. The entree plates looked very nice, but there was too much bordelaise sauce for my liking, initially. I like light seasoning and to taste the meat, and understand not everyone is the same. The steak quality was prestigious and it was cooked exactly to our level of desire. Our biggest letdown was the overwhelming char on the steak. It ruined the steak experience, but the bordelaise sauce was able to cover some of it.
Unfortunately, I think we came on a night where it was a miss. It is upsetting that there would be an upcharge for additional bread, and the salad was seasoned the way it was. For $250, the atmosphere and service were amazing, the drinks delightful and the food was all right. It was a wonderful evening though! We will update the rating when we go back...
Read moreCan you say "Wow".. What a beautiful restaurant (food, service, overall ambiance) in Hico, Texas.
My sister treated our 94 year old father & 92 year old mother to just a day out in Hico. They live in Granbury.
First, a young lady saw us coming in and quickly held the door open and greeted us with a warm, friendly smile..." Welcome." Nice friendly crowd in restaurant..all seemed to be truly enjoying thier food.
Waitress Shelly came to the table with amazing energy and personality.. She greeted each of us.. answered questions off menu..gave some great recommendations.. The Chef at Oma Leen's does some incredible dishes here.. The food selections, the drink list, (loved the wine choices) all made this first-time visit amazing! Sister had the Brasied chicken (Coq Au Vin) and Dad and myself the Trout plate. We shared some salads.. Buttermilk biscuits and ended with fantastic desserts..
If you haven't tried or if you're visiting the Hico area.. A must stop for an amazing dining experience.. breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a special meal..
And never mind that chef Shannon might stop by your table. She asked about our experience, took the time to share stories, blessed our parents for 74 years of marriage, and thanked them for taking the time to experience her amazing place for dinner. We definitely will recommend to friends and families.. Great job,...
Read moreOma Leen’s atmosphere is second to none. It is the perfect combination of professional upscale fine dining tempered with a “Hey it’s good to see y’all” feel. Each dish our party ordered stood alone as excellent. The combinations of textures and flavors were thoughtfully and perfectly crafted. The skill, education and love for their craft was obvious. The portion sizes were larger than we expected and a good value for the money. We are vegetarian and gluten free and they were able to accommodate these requests as though they were happy for the opportunity. We are from the DFW metroplex and this little local gem was unexpected and appreciated. We happened upon the owners at a nearby music venue and were struck by their openness and kindness. Their love and energy for people and what they do were infectious. Thank you Oma Leen’s! We...
