Basil Cafe & Catering – A Wonderful Surprise in High Point
I dropped by Basil Cafe & Catering on a whim, and wow – what a wonderful surprise! This nice little spot in High Point completely exceeded my expectations. From the incredibly friendly service to the fresh, flavorful food, every part of my visit was top-notch. I walked out with a huge smile, feeling lucky I stumbled upon this gem.
Exceptional Customer Service (100/10)
The customer service here is off the charts – I’d rate it 100/10 if I could. The lady at the register was absolutely amazing and so kind. She made me feel welcome right away, and we ended up having a warm, friendly chat as I ordered. She even shared a fascinating personal story about her family (turns out her relative was a police officer back in Al Capone’s days in Illinois!) which was such a cool and unexpected conversation. That personal touch and genuine warmth made the experience truly memorable – you just don’t find service like this every day.
Fresh and Flavorful Food
Now let’s talk about the food – it was fantastic. I ordered the veggie wrap on a spinach tortilla, and the presentation was excellent (almost too pretty to eat!). Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the vegetables tasted incredibly fresh and crisp. The wrap had a great mix of textures and even a yummy spread that tied all the veggies together perfectly. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a second one to-go for later (yes, it was that good).
Highly Recommended – I’ll Be Back!
Overall, Basil Cafe & Catering gets my highest recommendation. If you’re in the High Point area, you need to check this place out. Between the phenomenal service and the delicious food, it’s absolutely worth a visit. I’m already planning to come back to try other items on the menu (can’t wait to see what other tasty surprises they have in store). Seriously, don’t miss out on this little gem – it’s one of those finds that can truly...
Read moreBasil Cafe & Catering offers a delightful culinary experience that left me thoroughly impressed. Open from Thursday to Saturday for dinner and serving lunch on other days (closed on Sundays), this gem in the area is a must-try. From the moment I stepped in, the owners radiated warmth and hospitality, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Their genuine friendliness added a personal touch to the dining experience. I opted for one of their nightly specials – a stir-fry that surpassed all expectations. The dish featured a medley of crisp red peppers, green peppers, onions, carrots, and broccoli, complemented by a tender sirloin steak over a bed of flavorful rice. The crowning glory was the mouthwatering teriyaki sauce, and the finishing touches of sesame seeds and chow mein noodles added the perfect crunch. The menu presented a tough choice between the stir-fry and their homemade soups, but the owners generously brought samples of both the tomato basil and chicken and rice soups. Each spoonful was a burst of exquisite flavors, prompting me to take home two bowls for the weekend. Beyond the delectable all fresh ingredient and homemade cuisine, the impeccable service stood out. The owners’ dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience made the visit truly special. I find joy in supporting local businesses, and Basil Cafe & Catering is undoubtedly deserving of praise. I highly recommend giving them a try – you won’t be...
Read moreCame to this place after too long driving by it. It's in an unusual location, and I am sad only that I didn't try it earlier since I live and work nearby. I went in with a coupon I had been intending to use for a couple of months, not knowing what to find but wanting a sandwich. I ordered the Cuban Panini special and a side of pasta salad, with iced tea. I realized that my coupon had expired and asked about it before ordering, and they honored it anyway...a good sign of excellent service. The interior is bright and cheery, not what you would expect from the street with good music, not too loud. About a quarter of the tables were filled.
When the sandwich came and I took my first bite, I immediately thought "Oh my, this is the best cuban sandwich I have ever tasted." The bread was perfectly toasted, and rather than just the grilled ham and cheese that some places call a cuban, this had the tender marinated chopped pork, peppers, onions and deliciously melted chese. The spice level was perfect, and complicated, so many flavors jumped out with each bite. The pasta salad was just right as well, cool and fresh, a relief on a hot summer's day, but didn't distract from the amazing sandwich. I will definitely be back. If the other sandwiches and salads are as good as this, this could become a regular lunch spot for me. Thank...
