I have been eating here for years, and up until today I would have given it 4 stars.! Food is basic but pretty good and very reasonably priced, My favorite meal has been the fried Alaskan White Fish. I have always thought they have the best tartar sauce (and I am picky about that). Today I ordered my usual and when it came I thought I noticed an unpleasant odor but it was brief--after all it is fish--but this fish has never been "fishy" before. First bite did not taste quite right--but again it was very mild so I was not sure so I ate a little more and finally decided there was definitely something wrong! I ate my side dishes and left the fish. I informed my waitress and she acted like she did not know what to do. I had already told her I get this entree every time I go there. I told her she should let management and or the kitchen staff know in case there was other fish that was bad. She said she did so. When I paid my bill at the counter I mentioned that the fish was not good today. I was told they get the fish in fresh twice a week so there should not have been anything wrong with it! She did not offer to take it off my bill or at least reduce my bill or offer a coupon--it was just "too bad". I understand that things can happen with food even at the best restaurants but the customer service was certainly not there today. I was not looking for a free meal. Family owned restaurant that has good food and service, at a very reasonable price. Most of their clientele are senior citizens so the atmosphere is fairly reflective of that as well.

There are plenty of options on their menu to choose from, including their selection of sides/veggies. I ended up going with one of the specials for the day which was chicken and dumpling with 3 sides and tea or coffee for only 11.15. It’s worth going if you just want a home cooked meal.

5+ star experience from beginning to end. Clean environment, friendly staff, excellent food and very affordable. While everything was very commendable, my waitress is the cause for my review. Angel was the best we've had in a long time. If you have a no caring person waiting your table, it completely takes away from however good the food may be. Not once did we have to ask for anything, not refills (4 people at our table), or napkins, to go box or drinks, etc. She was prompt and kind, a leading example for other wait staff indeed!
