Stock and Grain is located next to Truist Point ballpark. That makes it a perfect location to grab a meal before any soccer, baseball or other event. So today before the High Point Rockets Baseball game we decided to have dinner here. After walking around and checking out the menu at the various food court spots, we settled on YUMI. They had a great selection of sushi, poke bowls and ramen bowls to satisfy everyone in our group of 5. They also have some great Japanese beer & Sake. I got the Tokatsu Ramen with the pork belly in a mild broth. It had a little kick but I probably should have gone up a level for a nicer kick. They gave a decent amount of pork belly and were not stingy. The broth had corn and scallions, shredded nori seaweed with a garlic oil. A great combination with some good noodles that filled you up to the point I felt bloated…..I’m sure the Diet Coke did not help! My wife got the same with the Tempura Shrimp which comes on the side. She got zero spice and regretted it so she got a side of hot sauce. My kids went with Poke bowls and they both loved them so I will take their word on it. Overall a good meal but a bit pricey for a place where you pick up your own order and then clean up after yourself. As far as service, not much to comment on since you order at one end of the counter, get a beeper and then pick up at the other end when it’s ready. The court itself is great because of the different selections but you need to hope that the people before you clean up their table when done if not you will be cleaning it yourself. That’s my reason for a 3...
Read moreFinally got a chance to hit this place up. Did not come during a Rockers Game. Came on a quiet Wednesday afternoon and it was still buzzing. We sampled products from Yumi, Damn Good Dogs, Brisket,Biscuits and Beer. Sushi and Spring Roll were excellent. The dog was absolutely stellar. The turkey from Brisket was moist. His sauces are all homemade and on point especially the mustard based sauce and the habanero garlic hot sauce. Pimento cheese was good as well and I had a very unique brew from a Charlotte brewery from here as well. Read some of the negative comments about the place having a cafeteria feel. I could not disagree more. I thought it was modern and funky. The outdoor area is nice. The whole place seems well designed. Have I been in nicer food halls? Yes, but these are located in huge cities (Atlanta, NYC) and are far away. High Point continues to improve and this is one more place that does just that. When we were younger we had to drive to Greensboro or Winston for anything...
