3/5/2015 We wanted to try this restaurant this evening, we have been there several times for breakfast but not dinner. We went about 7:00 pm, seated about 20 ft from the Men's room, which the door kept getting stuck, after several times and telling our waitress about it, we finally got the full view of a man standing in there using the bathroom with his back to us!!! Ridiculous... We told the cashier and her "excuse" (smartass I might add) was that the woman dishwasher was in there changing out paper towels, which was an excuse because my husband went in there and there were NO PAPERTOWELS, she was also the same person that stood beside of our table for about 20 mins talking to 2 EMS drivers talking up a storm to them with her large back side in our face, after walking away from their table we could tell by their face, they were not impressed she stood there so long talking to them, when you are at a restaurant you go to eat not to have a waitress talk to you about her life story. I also think Peppermill has very high price points for the style restaurant they are, $10.00 for a Meatball Sub??? These are prices of an upper scale restaurant not the "PepperMill" my entire family was not impressed with our meal, it wasn't bad but not anything special that we would visit this restaurant again, I did enjoy their breakfast but because the way we were treated when we paid our ticket, I will NEVER visit this restaurant again. It cost $32.00 and we ordered 3 cheeseburgers - I could have went to Liberty's for these prices and I will go there the next time! I enjoy all types of restaurants doesn't matter, but when I dine, I do not care to see someone using the bathroom, or smelling the odor from the bathroom, seeing the wait staff acting as if this is some sort of family reunion, and seeing the waitresses phone being charged at the table behind us, just very unprofessional all...
Read moreThis was our first time to visit the Peppermill Cafe. For first timers, I'll mention that you enter the cafe at the side entrance and exit through the door facing Main Street. We arrived a little before regular lunch time and were promptly seated. Many people started coming in after we were there. It took us awhile to browse the extensive menu. You can check the menu out ahead of time online. We both ordered the Two Chili Dog Combo that costs $7.29. You receive two chili dogs, a huge portion of fries, and a drink for that price. Our chili dogs had what tasted like home made chili, mustard and onions. We requested the slaw on the side. We each got a custard cup size portion of slaw. We liked our chili dogs. The fries were hot and fried golden on the outside. The slaw was simply okay - it tasted like it had been around for a while and really wasn't seasoned at all. We also received drinks in the combo. I ordered mine without ice and got a glass filed with ice. My only refill - after I had again requested no ice - was a glass partially filled with diet soda. This ice in drink issue was the only time our service was not good. The cashier was very slow and the line to pay was backing up towards the entry door. So we sat down until the line to pay got smaller. We enjoyed the meal we had here and think...
Read moreI had a craving for bananas foster pancakes, and The PepperMill Café was one of the few places in town that offered it. I was hoping for a passable rendition thereof and little else, but The PepperMill Café exceeded expectations. While not much to look at inside or out, the restaurant is deceptively spacious. Service is also both friendly and hyper-efficient, so while they keep busy, you won’t be waiting for anything very long here.
The PepperMill Café offers much of what you’d expect from a classic Greek-owned Southern diner, which means an appreciably large menu with a few Mediterranean-influenced dishes. From omelets and biscuits to pancakes, French toast, and waffles, they’ve got you covered. However, for those seeking something more novel, PepperMill also offers carrot cake pancakes and a kielbasa plate.
I satisfied my craving with two bananas foster pancakes/eggs/sausage. The pancakes were large without being too dense, the bananas were nicely caramelized, and the cream cheese butter made for a nice finishing touch. All told, it was a very satisfying forkful. Everything else was decent if less memorable, and pricing is reasonable.
I don’t know how the lunch offerings measure up, but for a sit-down breakfast, The PepperMill Café is a...
