Happy Wok — Restaurant in High Ridge Township

Our household did the classic and feared mix-up, and placed a phone order for pickup here and "picked up" at a different location that took the order as a walk-in.

Now, you must be thinking, "What did you do?" I'll tell you, we picked up our phone order and we compared them. First and foremost, Happy Wok and Tong at the front counter here were incredibly kind and gracious to our takeout dilemma. Our food was kept warm and was hot when we got it home.

Between this location and the other location we accidentally ordered from (I'll omit the name but if you live in or around House Springs/High Ridge I'm sure you know), we did a full comparison of the meals and found that Happy Wok's portions were consistently larger and the food had great flavor.

We did enjoy both, but my favorite was Happy Wok. And while I have an absolute mountain of Chinese takeout leftovers on my hands, I do look forward to ordering from here again the next...

They won't allow picture uploads anymore so warning not sure if this place has changed or not. Normally have no issues here. And the issue tonight was due to their menu and how things are listed. I ordered chicken teriyaki and what I got was not even close. It was chicken stir fry is best I can describe and tasted nothing like teriyaki. If their menu had said it came with the biggest slices of onions and broccoli and chucks of carrot I wouldn't have even thought to order it. Some people like that stuff I do not the menu jus simply said teriyaki chicken so normally would've thought jus a box of chicken with sauce but not even close I can't even eat mine so I'm going without dinner and its cause I should've asked so just warning those who are new or want to try something new their menus does not tell you what's in the dishes...

Great food, reasonable prices, and a wide menu selection. Family owned business with super friendly customer service and conversation when I pick up my order. Always willing to customize my order to my liking.

I work from home 15 minutes away and order Lunch take out from Happy Wok on nearly a weekly basis. My orders are typically ready by the time I arrive, made to my liking, packaged well for travel, and are still hot when I get back home to eat. What's not to like?

Some of my favorites are: Mongolian Beef, General Tso's Chicken (ask for a little extra spicy for some extra kick if you prefer), Beef Lo Mein (add $1 shrimp), Crab Rangoon, and Hot & Sour Soup.
